North American Indian childhood cirrhosis (NAIC, or CIRH1A) is an isolated nonsyndromic form of familial cholestasis reported in Ojibway-Cree children and young adults in northwestern Quebec. The pattern of transmission is consistent with an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance.
