The EMAPII (endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II) domain is a tRNA-binding domain associated with several aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, which becomes an independent domain with inflammatory cytokine activity upon apoptotic cleavage from the p43 component of the multisynthetase complex.
