The implications of Asn315 and Val450 in the atypical starch hydrolysis profile of Bacillus stearothermophilus Amy (a-amylase) US100 have been suggested previously [Ben Ali, Mhiri, Mezghani and Bejar (2001) Enzyme Microb.
