Finding UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGT) require protein kinase C-mediated phosphorylation is important information that allows manipulation of this critical system. UGTs glucuronidate numerous aromatic-like chemicals derived from metabolites, diet, environment and, inadvertently, therapeutics to reduce toxicities.
