Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) A1 is a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein that regulates gene expression through its action on mRNA metabolism and translation. The cytoplasmic redistribution of hnRNP A1 is a regulated process during viral infection and cellular stress.
