Cross-priming amplification (CPA) technology for tuberculosis diagnosis from sputum specimens was evaluated. The sensitivity of CPA from smear- and liquid culture-positive specimens was 96.9%, and that from smear-negative and liquid culture-positive specimens was 87.5%.
