We previously found that the endogenous anticonvulsant adenosine, acting through A(2A) and A(3) adenosine receptors (ARs), alters the stability of currents (I(GABA)) generated by GABA(A) receptors expressed in the epileptic human mesial temporal lobe (MTLE).
