ABSTRACT: Synthesis of a new class of phosphatidylcholine analogues derived from glyceric acid is reported for spectroscopic studies of phospholipases and conformation of phospholipid side-chains in biological membranes, using fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) techniques.
