Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-specific monoclonal antibodies predominantly inhibit colorectal cancer (CRC) growth by interfering with receptor signaling. Recent analyses have shown that patients with CRC with mutated KRAS and BRAF oncogenes do not profit from treatment with such antibodies.
