[N,N'-Bis(4-chloro-benz-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine]dichloridozinc(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(16)H(18)Cl(2)N(2))], the asymmetric unit contains one mol-ecule and two half-mol-ecules, which have similar geometric parameters; in the latter two molecules each Zn atom lies on a twofold rotation axis. The environment about each Zn(II) atom is distorted tetra-hedral with coordination of two terminal Cl atoms and two N atoms of the N,N'-bis-(4-chloro-benz-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine ligand. Four N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a chain of R(2) (2)(8) rings in the [001] direction.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title Schiff base compound, C(18)H(12)Cl(2)F(6)N(2), adopts an E configuration with respect to the azomethine C=N bond. Intra-molecular C-H?F (× 2) and C-H?Cl (× 2) hydrogen bonds generate S(5) ring motifs. The imino group is coplanar with the aromatic ring. Within the mol-ecule, the planar units are parallel, but extend in opposite directions from the methyl-ene bridge, as indicated by the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of 3.74?(6)°. The inter-esting features of the crystal structure are weak inter-molecular Cl?N and F?F inter-actions, with distances of 2.9192?(11) and 3.2714?(10)?Å, respectively, which are shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii of the relevent atoms. These inter-actions link neighbouring mol-ecules into dimers which are stacked down the b axis.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the mononuclear zinc title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(26)H(26)N(4))], the Zn(II) ion is surrounded by three N atoms from a (1R*,2S*)-N(1)-benzyl-2-phenyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-N(2)-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine (BPPPEN) ligand and two terminal chloride ligands, resulting in a highly distorted environment around the metal atom. The calculated τ parameter of 0.42 indicates that the coordination geometry is approximately square-pyramidal. Hydrogen bonds involving centrosymmetric N-H⋯Cl inter-actions form dimeric structures. The mol-ecules are stacked along the a and b axes.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(H(2)NCH(2)CH(2)NH(2))(3)](CF(3)COO)(2), the environment of the Cu atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by six N atoms from three chelating ethane-1,2-diamine ligands. The Cu-N distances range from 2.050 (2) to 2.300 (2) Å. This complex cation and the two trifluoro-acetate anions are connected by weak N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. Project description:The complete mol-ecule of the title compound, C(24)H(20)Cl(2)N(4), is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. A kink in the mol-ecule is evident [C-N-C-C torsion angle = -147.0?(3)°] owing to the twist in the central ethyl-ene bridge. Further, there is a small twist between the imine [N=C = 1.267?(3)?Å] and quinoline residues [N-C-C-C = -12.4?(4)°]. In the crystal, a combination of ?-? [pyridine-benzene centroid-centroid distance = 3.5670?(14)?Å] and C-H?N contacts leads to supra-molecular chains propagating in [010].

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(2)H(8)N(2))(C(6)H(18)N(4))]S(2)O(3)·3H(2)O, was accidentally synthesized under solvothermal conditions applying [Ni(en)(3)]Cl(2) (en is ethane-1,2-diamine) as the Ni source. The asymmetric unit consists of one discrete [Ni(tren)(en)](2+) complex [tren is N,N-bis-(2-amino-eth-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine] in which the Ni(2+) cation is sixfold coord-inated within a slightly distorted octa-hedron, one thio-sulfate anion and three water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the complex cations, anions and water mol-ecules are linked by an intricate hydrogen-bonding network. One C atom of the tren ligand, as well as one O atom of a water mol-ecule, are disordered over two sites and were refined using a split model (occupancy ratios = 0.85:15 and 0.60:0.40, respectively).
