ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title structure, 2C(4)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(6)Cl(2)O(4) (2-), consists of one 2-methyl-imidazolium cation and one-half of a chloranilate anion, the formula unit being generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the ions into a two-dimensional framework parallel to the (102) plane. No ?-? stacking or C-H?? inter-actions are observed in the crystal structure.

There is an inversion center at the mid-point of the central C-C bond of the fumarate anion. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, there are weak ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.640?(1)?Å.

In the crystal structure, the individual components are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional network parallel to the (101) plane in which R(3) (3)(9), R(3) (3)(12) and R(4) (4)(18) hydrogen-bond motifs are present.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Hg(C(11)H(12)N(2))(2)](PF(6))(2), consists of one bis-(1-benzyl-3-methyl-imidazolium)mercury(II) cation, one half of the cation and an additional Hg(II) atom, which lies on an inversion centre, and three hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions. The Hg(II) atoms exist in a linear coordination geometry [C-Hg-C = 178.9 (2) and 180°] formed by two carbene C atoms from the imidazole rings. In the crystal, the cations and anions are connected via C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, K[Ag(C(11)H(12)N(2))(2)](2)(PF(6))(3), the 12-coordinate potassium cation lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and one of the hexa-fluoro-phosphate anions is generated by symmetry. In the complex cation, the Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two C atoms; the two imidazolium rings are orientated at a dihedral angle of 8.14 (14)°. In the 1-benzyl-3-methyl-imidazolium units, the dihedral angles between imidazolium and phenyl rings are 80.47 (15) and 76.53 (14)°. The F atoms of the general-position hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.767 (17):0.233 (17) ratio. In the crystal, the hexa-fluoro-phosphate anions link the cations into three-dimensional networks via inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds and are further consolidated by π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5518 (15) Å] inter-actions.

Each of two 6-methyl-2-pyridyl rings is rotated out of the imidazole plane, making dihedral angles of 79.90?(9) and 86.40?(9)°. The packing is consolidated by aromatic ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings of neighbouring mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.554?(2)?Å] and by weak C-H?N and C-H?Br hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In both ionic components of the title salt, C(4)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-), the rings are approximately planar; the maximum deviation from the mean plane is an order of magnitude larger in the picrate ring [0.0289?(10)?Å] than in the imidazolium ring [0.0028?(10)?Å. The nitro groups are twisted with respect to the six-atom ring plane; the NO(2) groups next to the oxide O atom, at the 2- and 6-positions, are twisted more [by 53.59?(9) and 18.46?(12)°] than the NO(2) group at the 4-postition, for which the twist angle is 7.28?(16)°. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds, in which the hydroxyl O atom acts as a double acceptor and one of the O atoms from a nitro group acts as an additional acceptor, connect mol-ecules into chains along the c-axis direction. Relatively short C-H?O contacts and ?-? inter-actions between symmetry-related six-membered rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5938?(10) and 3.6223?(10)?Å] also occur.
