Project description:The structure of the title compound (26DCP4MeBA), C(14)H(10)Cl(2)O(2), resembles those of phenyl benzoate (PBA), 2,6-dichloro-phenyl benzoate (26DCPBA), 2,4-dichloro-phenyl 4-methyl-benzoate (24DCP4MeBA) and other aryl benzoates, with similar bond parameters. The dihedral angle between the benzene and benzoyl rings in 26DCP4MeBA is 77.97 (9)°, compared with values of 55.7 (PBA), 75.75 (10) (26DCPBA) and 48.13 (5)° (24DCP4MeBA). The mol-ecules in the title compound are packed into zigzag chains in the bc plane.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(11)Cl(2)NO(2)S, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 76.62 (10)° and the C-S-N-C linkage between the rings adopts a gauche conformation [torsion angle = -51.4 (2)°]. A weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action closes an S(6) ring. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate R(2) (2)(8) loops.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, C(11)H(13)Cl(2)NO(4)S, shows one sulfonamide-O atom to lie almost in the plane of the benzene ring [C-C-S-O = -178.7?(2) °] and the other to one side [C-C-S-O = -49.4?(3)°]. Lying to the other side is the amine residue, which occupies a position almost perpendicular to the plane [C-S-N-C = 70.2?(2)°]; the carb-oxy-lic acid group is orientated to lie over the benzene ring. In the crystal, the appearance of an 11-membered {?OH?OCOH?OC(2)NH} synthon, which features the hy-droxy group forming both donor (to a carbonyl-O) and acceptor (from the amine-H) inter-actions, leads to the formation of a supra-molecular chain along the a axis. Chains are connected in the crystal structure by C-H?O contacts.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(11)Cl(2)NO(2)S, the N-C bond in the C-SO(2)-NH-C segment has gauche torsion angles with respect to the S=O bonds. The mol-ecule is bent at the S atom with an C-SO(2)-NH-C torsion angle of 62.1?(2)°. Furthermore, the conformation of the N-H bond is syn to the ortho-chloro group in the adjacent benzene ring. The benzene rings are tilted by 67.8?(1)° relative to each other. The crystal structure features dimers linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds. An intra-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:In the structure of the 1:1 proton-transfer compound of 4-methyl-pyridine (?-picoline) with 4,5-dichloro-phthalic acid, C(6)H(8)N(+)·C(8)H(3)Cl(2)O(4) (-)·H(2)O, determined at 200?K, the 4,5-dichloro-phthalate anions are bridged by the water mol-ecule through O-H?O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bonds, giving zigzag chains which extend along the c-axis direction. The 4-methyl-pyridinium cations are linked to the chains through single N-H?O(water) hydrogen bonds and occupy the voids within the chains in the one-dimensional structure. The anions have the common 'planar' conformation with a short intra-molecular O-H?O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bond.

In the crystal, a weak C-H?N inter-action, a short Cl?Cl contact [3.307?(2)?Å] and a ?-? stacking inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.568?(4)?Å] are observed.
