Catena-Poly[[[aqua-(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ato N-oxide-?O,O)cobalt(II)]-?-1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane-?N:N'] dihydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Co(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(C(13)H(14)N(2))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Co(II) atom is coordinated by two O atoms from a pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate N-oxide ligand, two N atoms from two 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane ligands and one water mol-ecule, and displays a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane ligands link the Co(II) atoms into an infinite zigzag chain parallel to [010]. The chains are further linked through O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:There are two independent La(III) cations in the polymeric title compound, {[La(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n). One is nine-coordinated in an LaN(2)O(7) tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry formed by three pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules, while the other is ten-coordinated in an LaNO(9) bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by four pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules. The two La(III) cations are separated by a non-bonding distance of 5.026 (3) Å. The pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions bridge the La(III) cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric complex. The crystal structure contains extensive classical O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further consolidated by π-π stacking between pyridine rings, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.700 (5) Å.

Project description:In the title Cu(II) complex, [Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(6)H(5)NO(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, the environment of the Cu(2+) ion is a distorted square pyramid with the axial site occupied by the O atom from the coordinated water mol-ecule and the square base formed by two O and two N atoms from the tridentate anion and the neutral monodentate pyridine-3-carboxylic acid ligand. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, as well as π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.945 (3) Å] contribute to the stabilization of this structure.

Project description:The title complex, {[Cd(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), is a one-dimensional coordination polymer, wherein the Cd atom is seven-coordinated by two 1,10-phenanthroline N atoms, one N and three O atoms from two different pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, and one water mol-ecule. It is further extended to a two-dimensional layer structure by hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.560 (2) and 3.666 (2) Å]. There is a C4 water chain in the structure whose repeat unit contains four water mol-ecules with O⋯O distances in the range 2.748 (3)-2.795 (4) Å. One of the two H atoms of each water of hydration is statistically distributed over two positions with equal occupancy.

Besides two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine and one water mol-ecule coordinate to the Co cation, completing a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Within the dinuclear mol-ecule, π-π stacking occurs between parallel pyridine rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.802 (2) Å. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Extensive inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds lead to the stability of the crystal structure. Inter-actions between one C-H group of the 2,3-diamino-pyridinium [(2,3-dapyH)(+)] cation and the aromatic ring of the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate (pydc) ligand (C-H⋯centroid distance = 2.78 Å) and π-π inter-actions between the (2,3-dapyH)(+) cations and between the (2,3-dapyH)(+) cation and the pydc ligand [centroid-centroid distances = 3.489 (5) and 3.694 (5) Å] are observed.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(8)H(7)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)], the Cd(II) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four N atoms from two bidentate chelating 2-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine ligands, one O atom from a benzene-1,2-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and one water mol-ecule. The mol-ecular structure features intra-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, the complex mol-ecules are assembled into a two-dimensional supra-molecular layer parallel to (011) via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridyl and pyrazole rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.544 (2) and 3.722 (3) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(H(2)O)(6)][Ni(3)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)(4)]·8H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of nickel(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (pydcH(2)) and 1,10-phenanothroline (phen) in an aqueous solution. The latter ligand is not involved in formation of the title complex. There are three different Ni(II) atoms in the asymmetric unit, two of which are located on inversion centers, and thus the [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cation and the trinuclear {[Ni(pydc)(2)](2)-?-Ni(H(2)O)(4)}(2-) anion are centrosymmetric. All Ni(II) atoms exhibit an octa-hedral coordination geometry. Various inter-actions, including numerous O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-O?? stacking of the pyridine and carboxyl-ate groups [3.570?(1), 3.758?(1) and 3.609?(1)?Å], are observed in the crystal structure.
