ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(22)N(2) (2+)·2PF(6) (-), contains one half-mol-ecule and a hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H?F hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules. The F atoms in the hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion are disordered over two positions and were refined with occupancies of 0.43?(2) and 0.57?(2).

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(20)N(2)O(2) (2+)·2PF(6) (-), was prepared by anion exchange of two bromide ions in the ionic liquid 2,2'-bis-(pyridinium-1-ylmeth-yl)-propane-1,3-diol dibromide with potassium hexa-fluoro-phosphate. The two pyridine rings are planar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.008 and 0.00440?Å) and make a dihedral angle of 44.0?(2)°. Intermolecular O-H?F and C-H?F interactions occur. The four F atoms in each anion were refined as disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ration of 0.700?(19):0.300?(19).

Project description:The whole molecule of the title Schiff base compound, C28H28N2O2, is generated by inversion symmetry. It is formed from two units of ortho-hy-droxy-naphthaldehyde bridged with 1,6-di-amino-hexane. The N atoms are protonated and, thus, the structure is a bis-zwitterionic compound in the solid state. The zwitterion shows strong intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the iminium N and the naphthaleno-late O atoms.

Project description:The title salt, C(12)H(14)N(2) (2+)·2IO(3) (-), exhibits two crystallographically independent iodate anions, the I atoms of which are each in a trigonal-pyramidal environment. In the dication, the two pyridine rings adopt an anti conformation with respect to each other; the angle between these two rings is 3.84 (19)°. In the crystal structure, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions lead to the formation of layers arranged parallel to the ab plane. I⋯O halogen bonds [R(2) (2)(4) graph-set motif] range between 2.873 (2) and 3.036 (3) Å and connect neighbouring IO(3) (-) anions with each other along [100], so as to create a three-dimensional network.

Inter-molecular C-H?F, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

The dication lies across a crystallographic inversion center. The imidazole ring is twisted away from the central benzene ring, making a dihedral angle of 76.23 (6)°. The hexa-fluoro-phosphate anions link the cations into a three-dimensional network via inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. A weak C-H⋯π inter-action further stabilizes the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title N-heterocyclic carbene compound, C(32)H(30)N(4) (2+)·2PF(6) (-), the mean plane of the naphthalene ring system makes dihedral angles of 79.15 (15) and 76.85 (16) with the imidazole rings and 56.15 (19) and 80.56 (16)° with the benzene rings. An intra-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bond occurs. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯F inter-actions. In addition, π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.848 (1) and 3.574 (3) Å] are observed. The nine equatorial F atoms in the two PF(6) (-) anions were disordered over two positions with occupancy ratios of 0.545 (10):0.455 (10) and 0.793 (11):0.207 (11) in the two anions.

In the cation, the pyridine and phenyl-ene rings are aligned at 62.9 (1)°; the pyridine ring lies on a special position of m site symmetry and the phenyl-ene ring on a special position of 2/m site symmetry. The angle at the methyl-ene C atom is 112.8 (1)°. The anion lies on a special position of m site symmetry; four F atoms lie on this mirror plane.
