Project description:The title compound, 2C(8)H(20)N(+)·C(2)O(4) (2-)·2H(2)O, synthesized by neutralizing H(2)C(2)O(4)·2H(2)O with (C(2)H(5))(4)NOH in a 1:2 molar ratio, is a deliquescent solid. The oxalate ion is nonplanar, with a dihedral angle between carboxyl-ate groups of 64.37?(2)°. O-H?O hydrogen bonds of moderate strength link the O atoms of the water mol-ecules and the oxalate ions into rings parallel to the c axis. The rings exhibit the graph-set motif R(4) (4)(12). In addition, there are weak C-H?O inter-actions in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, (CH(3))(4)N(+)·0.5C(8)H(4)O(4) (2-)·2H(2)O, the complete terephthalate dianion is completed by twofold symmetry and has a dihedral angle of 23.5 (2)° between the carboxyl-ate group and its parent ring. Two independent water mol-ecules serve as both donors and acceptor in the construction of undulating hydrogen-bonded host layers with various O-H⋯O contacts ocurring between the anion and two water mol-ecules. At the same time, the tetra-methyl-ammonium cations, as the sphere-like guest species, are arranged in two rows between neighboring host layers, with an approximate inter-layer distance of 7.36 Å, forming a sandwich-like crystal structure.

Differences in the conformations of the ethyl groups of the cation exist between the polymorphs. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(8)H(20)N(+)·C(4)H(5)O(5) (-)·1.36H(2)O, contains two independent ion pairs, with similar conformations, and three water mol-ecules of crystallization, one water mol-ecule haing a site-occupancy factor of 0.721 (5). Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving the hydr-oxy groups and an O atom of each carboxyl-ate anion, generate five-membered rings involving S(5) ring motifs. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked together by water mol-ecules through four-membered O-H⋯O-H⋯O-H inter-actions to form one-dimensional infinite chains along the a axis. Since the mol-ecules are also linked into one-dimensional infinite chains along the b axis, mol-ecular sheets parallel to the (001) plane are created. Overall, the crystal structure is stabilized by two intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, nine inter-molecular O-H⋯O and ten C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, (C(6)H(5)CH(2)CH(2)NH(3))(2)[CoCl(4)], were grown by the solvent-evaporation method. This inorganic-organic hybrid compound exhibits a layered structure in which isolated CoCl(4) inorganic layers alternate with bilayers of phenylethylammonium cations. Although the inorganic anion is zero-dimensional, the layered structure is stabilized via N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The CoCl(4) tetra-hedra connect to the cations through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, building a two-dimensional network extending parallel to (010).

Project description:In the title salt, (C(8)H(20)N)[ReBr(C(7)H(5)O(2))(CO)(3)], the Re(I) atom is octa-hedrally surrounded by three facially orientated carbonyl ligands, one bidendate tropolonate ligand and a bromide ligand. The small O-Re-O bite angle of 74.88 (12)° leads to a distortion of the octa-hedral coordination sphere. The bromide ligand and the axial carbonyl ligand are substitutionally disordered over two positions in a 0.922 (3):0.078 (3) ratio. An array of C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Br hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the cations and neighbouring rhenate anions stabilizes the crystal packing.
