ABSTRACT: Each Cu atom in the dinuclear centrosymmetric title complex, [Cu(2)Br(2)(C(14)H(17)N(3))(2)](ClO(4))(2), is ligated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry (? = 0.31) by a tridentate bis-[2-(2-pyrid-yl)eth-yl]amine ligand, and by two bridging Br atoms. In addition, the dinuclear species is stabilized by two hydrogen-bonded perchlorate anions.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(2)Cl(2)(C(20)H(21)N(3)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2H(2)O, consists of a dinuclear Zn(II) cationic complex, two disordered perchlorate anions and two water mol-ecules as solvate. The [Zn(2)(?-Cl)(2)(HL)(2)](2+ )cation [HL is 2-({[2-(2-pyrid-yl)eth-yl](2-pyridylmeth-yl)amino}meth-yl)phenol] has a centrosymmetric structure with the Zn(II) ions in a distorted octa-hedral environment surrounded by an N(3)OCl(2) donor set. HL acts as a tetra-dentate ligand through three N atoms from one amine group and two pyridyl arms and one O atom from the phenolic arm. The three N-donor sites of the HL ligand are arranged in meridional fashion, with the pyridine rings coordinated in trans positions with respect to each other. Consequently, the amine and phenol groups are trans to the asymmetric di-?-chlorido exogenous bridges. A polymeric chain is formed along [010] by C(12)R(4) (2)(8) inter-molecular hydrogen bonding. The perchlorate anion is disordered and was modelled by two sites in a 0.345?(18):0.655?(18) ratio. Water-perchlorate O-H?O inter-actions form cyclic structures, while phenol-water O-H?O inter-actions generate an infinite chain. In addition, weak inter-molecular C-H??(Ph) inter-actions between pyridine donor and phenol acceptor groups of neighboring cations build a two-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to (110).

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C10H8N4)3(H2O)2](ClO4)2} n , the coordination environment of the cationic Cu(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by pairs of symmetry-equivalent 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands, bridging 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands and two non-equivalent water mol-ecules. The 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene mol-ecules form polymeric chains parallel to [-101] via azo bonds which are situated about inversion centres. Since the Cu(II) atom is situated on a twofold rotation axis, the monomeric unit has point symmetry 2. The perchlorate anions are disordered in a 0.536 (9):0.464 (9) ratio and are acceptors of water H atoms in medium-strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with graph set R 4 (4)(12). The water mol-ecules, which are coordinated to the Cu(II) atom and are hydrogen-bonded to the perchlorate anions, form columns parallel to [010]. A π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.913 (2) Å] occurs between pyridine rings, and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:In the title salt, C(15)H(17)N(2) (+)·ClO(4) (-), the isoindoline N atom is protonated and an intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, N-H?O and numerous weak C-H?O inter-actions occur between the cation and anion. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered over four sets of sites with occupancies of 0.438?(4), 0.270?(9), 0.155?(8) and 0.138?(5).

Project description:The centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Cu2(C2H2N2O4)(C10H8N2)2(C2H6OS)2](ClO4)2, contains two copper(II) ions, connected through an N-deprotonated oxalodi-hydroxamic acid dianion, two terminal 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands, and two apically coordinating dimethylsulfoxide mol-ecules. Two non-coordinating perchlorate anions assure electrical neutrality. The copper(II) ions in the complex dication [Cu2(C10H8N2)2(μ-C2H2N2O4)(C2H6SO)2](2+) are in an O2N3 square-pyramidal donor environment, the Cu-Cu separation being 5.2949 (4) Å. Two hydroxamate groups in the deprotonated oxalodi-hydroxamic acid are located trans to one each other. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the complex cations to the perchlorate anions. Further C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds combine with π-π contacts with a centroid-to-centroid separation of 3.6371 (12) Å to stack the mol-ecules along the a-axis direction.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, {(C(6)H(5)C(2)H(4)NH(3))(2)[PbBr(4)]}(n), were grown at room temperature from a solution in N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) using nitro-methane as the poor solvent. This perovskite-type organic-inorganic hybrid compound consists of well ordered sheets of corner-sharing disordered PbBr(6) octa-hedra separated by bilayers of phenethyl-ammonium cations. The octa-hedra are rotated and tilted due to N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds with the ammonium groups, generating a superstructure in the unit cell similar to that of the tetra-chloridoplumbate (C(6)H(5)C(2)H(4)NH(3))(2)[PbCl(4)].

Project description:The title salt, (C(19)H(18)NO(2))(2)[Cu(2)Br(6)], was obtained from an attempt to synthesize the copper(II) complex of 2,6-bis-(2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)pyridine (L) from a reaction between CuBr(2) and one equivalent of L in CH(2)Cl(2) at room temperature. The resulting compound is the salt of the 2,6-bis-(2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)pyridinium cation and 0.5 equivalents of a hexa-bromido-dicuprate(II) dianion. Both meth-oxy groups of the cationic pyridinium moiety are directed towards the N atom of the pyridine ring as a result of intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The centrosymmetric hexabromidodicuprate dianion possesses a distorted tetra-hedral geometry at the copper ion. The Cu-Br bond lengths are 2.3385 (7) and 2.3304 (7) Å for the terminal bromides, whereas the bond length between the Cu atom and two bridging bromides is slightly longer [2.4451 (6) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(9)H(15)N(13))(2)](ClO(4))(2)}(n), the Cu(2+) cation lies on an inversion center and is coordinated by the tetra-zole N(4) atoms of six symmetry-equivalent tris-[2-(1H-tetra-zol-1-yl)eth-yl]amine ligands (t(3)z) in the form of a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedron with Cu-N bond distances of 2.0210?(8), 2.0259?(8) and 2.4098?(8)?Å. The tertiary amine N atom is stereochemically inactive. The cationic part of the structure, viz. [Cu(t(3)z)(2)](2+), forms an infinite two-dimensional network parallel to (100), in pockets of which the perchlorate anions reside. The individual networks are partially inter-locked and held together by C-H?O inter-actions to the perchlorate anions and C-H?N inter-actions to tetra-zole N atoms.

The distorted tetra-hedral Cu(I) atoms in the dinuclear unit are coordinated by two bridging iodide anions, one pyridine N atom from the substituted tetra-zine ligand and one terminal triphenyl-phosphine P-atom donor. The Cu⋯Cu distance is 2.8293 (12) Å, implying a weak Cu⋯Cu inter-action.
