ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(C(3)H(2)N(3)O(2))(NO(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))], the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by an N and an O atom from a bidentate 1H-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxyl-ate (TRIA) ligand, two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, and an O atom from a nitrate ligand in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal environment. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into one-dimensional chains propagating along the b axis direction.

In the monomeric compound, the Cu(II) atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal configuration by one O atom and one N atom from one 1H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate (TZDCA(2-)) ligand and three O atoms from water mol-ecules. In the centrosymmetric binuclear complex, each Cu(II) atom is six-coordinated in an octa-hedral geometry by one O atom and one N atom from one TZDCA(2-) ligand and four O atoms from water mol-ecules, two of which bridge the Cu(II) atoms. In the structure, there are intra-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, and in the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link symmetry-related mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cd(C(14)H(9)N(5))(NO(3))(H(2)O)(2)]NO(3), the Cd(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The equatorial sites are occupied by a 2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-1,10-phenanthroline ligand in a tridentate coordination mode and a bis-chelating nitrate ligand. Two aqua ligands are coordinated at the axial sites. All non-H atoms in the equatorial plane are co-planar within 0.0673?Å. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds connect the components into a two-dimensional network parallel to (001). Project description:The title complex salt, [CuCl(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)][Tb(NO(3))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))], consists of discrete [CuCl(phen))(2)](+) cations and [Tb(NO(3))(4)(phen)](-) anions (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline). The [CuCl(phen))(2)](+) cation contains a five-coordinate Cu(2+) ion, ligated by two bidentate phen ligands and one Cl(-) ion, exhibiting a distorted CuN(4)Cl trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the [Tb(NO(3))(4)(phen)](-) anion, the Tb(3+) ion is coordinated by one chelating phen ligand and four chelating nitrates, forming a distorted TbN(2)O(8) bicapped dodeca-hedral configuration. The anions and cations are assembled into a three-dimensional network by weak C-H?Cl and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. There is also a significant ?-? stacking inter-action, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.635?(2)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C7H6N2O3)(C12H8N2)2]·3.5H2O, crystallizes as a neutral mononuclear complex with 3.5 solvent water mol-ecules. One of the water mol-ecules lies on an inversion centre, so that its H atoms are disordered over two sites. The coordination environment of Ni(II) has a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry, which is formed by one O and five N atoms belonging to the N,O-chelating pyrazol-1-ide-5-carboxyl-ate and two N,N'-chelating phenanthroline mol-ecules. In the crystal, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the solvent water mol-ecules and pyrazole-5-carboxyl-ate ligands form layers parallel to the ab plane. These layers are linked further via weak π-π inter-actions between two adjacent phenanthroline mol-ecules, with centroid-to-centroid distances in the range 3.886 (2)-4.018 (1) Å, together with C-H⋯π contacts, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a new coordination polymer of benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate with cadmium(II) and 1,10-phenanthroline. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule, three O atoms from two crystallographically independent benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule, forming a heavily distorted octa-hedron. The 1,10-phenanthroline ligand is approximately planar within 0.073 (4) Å. The two different benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands each coordinate to two Cd(II) ions in bidentate and monodentate modes, forming an infinite zigzag chain. Adjacent chains are packed tightly by strong π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.851 (2) and 3.859 (2) Å] between the aromatic rings of the benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and the 1,10-phenanthroline of a neighboring chain, forming a sheet parallel to (011). Different sheets are linked together via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and the O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a three-dimensional network.
