ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(12)H(10)N(6), the mol-ecules deviate slightly from planarity. The plane of the central triazole ring makes angles of 6.13?(9) and 3.28?(10)° with the pyridyl ring planes. Intra-molecular N-H?N inter-actions form six-membered closed rings. The crystal packing also shows weak C-H?? and C-H?N inter-actions.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, C(14)H(12)N(4)O(2), was determined as part of a project on the coordination chemistry of 1,2,4-triazole derivatives. In the crystal structure, one of the two benzene rings is almost coplanar with the five-membered triazole ring (mean deviation = 0.019?Å), whereas the second benzene ring is rotated by 51.973?(2)°. The two N-C-N-N torsion angles [170.365?(2) and -170.942?(3)°] indicate that the amido group is slightly twisted away from the triazole plane. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonding is found.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(12)H(10)N(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2), contains one-half of the complex molecule and one NO(3) (-) anion. The Zn(II) ion displays a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry with four N atoms from two chelating 4-amino-3,5-di-2-pyridyl-1,2,4-triazole (2-bpt) lig-ands in the basal plane and one water mol-ecule occupying the apical site. Another water mol-ecule at the opposite of the apical site has a weak inter-action with the Zn(II) ion [Zn-O = 2.852 (5) Å]. The Zn(II) ion and the two water mol-ecules lie on a twofold rotation axis. An extensive system of hydrogen bonds involving the NH(2) groups of the 2-bpt ligands, water mol-ecules and nitrate anions links all residues into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(4)H(5)N(7), comprises two independent but virtually superimposable mol-ecules. Each mol-ecule is planar with the dihedral angles between the five-membered rings being 2.8?(3) and 2.1?(3)°. The crystal structure is formed by an extensive network of relatively strong N-H?N hydrogen-bond inter-actions. Individual mol-ecules are arranged into supra-molecular zigzag chains running parallel to [001] by way of the strongest N-H?N inter-actions. Adjacent chains are inter-connected by rather long (D?A distances range from ca 3.00 to 3.03?Å) but highly directional (inter-action angles above ca 173°) hydrogen bonds forming a supra-molecular layer in the bc plane.
