ABSTRACT: THE TITLE COMPOUND (COMMON NAME: 3?-acet-oxy-8-epi-sclareolide), C(18)H(28)O(4), is a sclareolide derivative, which was synthesized from 9(11)-en-3?-acet-oxy-8-epi-sclareolide. In the mol-ecular structure, the two six-membered rings display chair conformations and the five-membered ring displays an envelope conformation. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

In the mol-ecule, the two six-membered rings, A and B, of the labdane skeleton adopt chair conformations and the five-membered O-containing heterocyclic ring C displays an envelope conformation, with the methine C atom of the fused C-C bond as the flap. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along [100].

Centrosymmetric dimers are found in the crystal structure stabilized by C-H?O inter-actions involving the furan O atom.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(24)O(6), is a sesquiterpene lactone isolated from the Kenyan plant Warburgia ugandensis. Ring A adopts a chair conformation, ring B is in a C(2) twist conformation and the lactone ring is nearly planar with maximum deviation 0.007 (1) Å. The reported absolute configuration is based on that of the similar compound bromo-parasiticolide A and is supported by analysis of Bijvoet differences from light atoms in Mo Kα radiation.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(15)BrO(3)S, was prepared by the oxidation of 7-bromo-2-methyl-1-(4-tolyl-sulfan-yl)naph-tho[2,1-b]furan with 3-chloro-peroxy-benzoic acid. The 4-tolyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 70.96?(6)° with the plane of the naphthofuran fragment. Project description:In the title compound, C16H14O, the cyclo-hexene ring has a half-chair conformation. The mean plane, calculated through all non-H atoms of the mol-ecule, except for the central CH2 atoms of the cyclo-hexene ring, which deviate by 0.340 (3) and -0.369 (3) Å from this mean plane, has an r.m.s. deviation of 0.012 Å. In the crystal, there are C-H⋯π contacts present, resulting in the formation of zigzag chains propagating along the [010] direction.

The crystal structure is stabilized by two inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions, and by non-classical inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?Br hydrogen bonds.
