ABSTRACT: In the title salt, C(14)H(15)N(2)O(2) (+)·C(12)H(4)N(4) (-), the asymmetric unit contains one cation and one anion. C-H?N and C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions (inter-planar distance 3.845?Å) are found in the crystal structure.

The Ni(III) ions are coordinated by four S atoms in a square-planar geometry. The anions exhibit two packing modes, viz. stacked along the a axis in a face-to-face fashion with an alternate arrangement of anions and cations, and stacked in a side-by-side fashion, forming ribbons parallel to (011).

In the cation, which has a crystallographically imposed centre of symmetry, the dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridine rings is 89.14?(4)°. Centrosymmetrically related anions form dimers by ?-? stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid separations of 3.874?(4)?Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-columnar C-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The reaction of 1-amino-anthraquinone with 7,7',8,8'-tetra-cyano-quinodimethane yielded the title charge-transfer complex, C(14)H(9)NO(2)·C(12)H(4)N(4). The mol-ecules have maximum deviations from the mean planes through the non-H atoms of 0.0769 (14) Å for an oxo O atom and 0.1175 (17) Å for a cyano N atom, respectively. The dihedral angle between the two planes is 3.55 (3)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are stacked into columns along the a-axis direction. Pairs of N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O inter-actions connect the mol-ecules perpendicular to the stacking direction. Additionally, an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-action is observed for 1-amino-anthraquinone.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(13)N(3)O(4), was synthesized from dimethyl 1H-pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate and 4-(bromo-meth-yl)benzonitrile. The inter-planar angle between the pyrazole and cyano-benzyl ring planes is 71.74 (17)° and an intramolecular C-H⋯O interaction occurs. The crystal structure is stabilized by π-π stacking inter-actions between the neighbouring pyrazole and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances of 3.5074 (16) and 3.9401 (15) Å, respectively]. One of the methyl groups is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy.
