Redetermination of (+)-methamphetamine hydro-chloride at 90 K.

ABSTRACT: THE TITLE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE (SYSTEMATIC NAME: N-methyl-1-phenyl-propan-2-aminium chloride), C(10)H(16)N(+)·Cl(-), was orginally determined by Simon, Bocskei & Torok [Acta Pharm. Hung. (1992). 62, 225-230] and Yao, Kan & Wang [Huaxue Shijie (1999). 40, 568-570] at room temperature but no atomic coordinates are available for these determinations. The mol-ecule has inter-est with respect to biological activity. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds form one-dimensional chains.

Redetermination of l-tryptophan hydro-bromide.

Project description:The redetermined crystal structure of the title compound, C(11)H(13)N(2)O(2) (+)·Br(-), is reported. Data collection at 100 K about three crystallographic axes resulted in a crystal structure with significantly higher precision in comparison to the two-dimensional data collected at 176 K [Takigawa et al. [(1966) Bull. Chem. Soc. Jpn, 39, 2369-2378]. The carboxyl group and indole ring system are planar, with maximum deviations of 0.002 (2) and 0.007 (2) Å, respectively, and make an angle of 70.17 (1)° with each other. The mol-ecules are arranged in double layers of carboxyl and amino groups parallel to the ab plane, stabilized by an extensive network of N-H⋯Br and O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds. The polar layer is held together by a network of three N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds and one O-H⋯Br hydrogen bond. In the non-polar layer, the indole rings are linked mainly by electrostatic N-H⋯C inter-actions between the polarized bond N-H (H is δ(+)) of the pyrrole unit and two of the ring C atoms (δ(-)) of the benzene rings of adjacent mol-ecules. The distances of these electrostatic inter-actions are 2.57 and 2.68 Å, respectively. C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present.

Meloxicam hydro-chloride.

Project description:The title salt, C14H14N3O4S2 +·Cl- [systematic name: 2-(4-hy-droxy-2-methyl-1,1-dioxo-1,2-benzo-thia-zine-3-amido)-5-methyl-1,3-thia-zol-3-ium chloride] is the hydro-chloride derivative of meloxicam, a drug used to treat pain and inflammation in rheumatic disorders and osteoarthritis. Although its mol-ecular structure is similar to that previously reported for the hydro-bromide analogue, both salts are not isomorphous. Different crystal structures originate from a conformational modification, arising from a degree of rotational freedom for the thia-zolium ring in the cations. By taking as a reference the conformation of meloxicam, the thia-zolium ring is twisted by 10.96 and -16.70° in the hydro-chloride and hydro-bromide salts, while the 1,2-benzo-thia-zine core is a rigid scaffold. This behaviour could explain why meloxicam is a polymorphous compound.

Twofold rotational disorder exhibited by the thio-phene ring in a 0.580 (5):0.420 (5) ratio represents two different conformations of the mol-ecule that exist in the same crystal form. The crystal structure contains strong N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C19H23FN3O3 (+)·Cl(-)·2H2O [systematic name: 4-(3-carb-oxy-1-cyclo-propyl-6-fluoro-4-oxo-1,4-di-hydro-quin-o-lin-7-yl)-1-ethyl-piperazin-1-ium chloride dihydrate], consists of two independent monocations of the protonated enrofloxacin, two chloride anions and four water mol-ecules. In the cations, the piperazinium rings adopt chair conformations and the dihedral angles between the cyclo-propyl ring and the 10-membered quinoline ring system are 56.55 (2) and 51.11 (2)°. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is observed in each cation. In the crystal, the components are connected via O-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and a π-π inter-action between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6726 (13) Å], resulting in a three-dimensional array.

(S)-(+)-Ketamine hydro-chloride.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound {systematic name: (S)-(+)-N-[1-(2-chloro-phen-yl)-2-oxocyclo-hexyl]meth-anam-in-ium chloride}, C(13)H(17)ClNO(+)·Cl(-), was determined at 90 (2) K. The (S)-(+)-ketamine hydro-chloride salt is a well known anesthetic compound and is dramatically more potent than its R isomer. In the title compound, the cyclo-hexa-none ring adopts a chair conformation with the oxo group in the equatorial orientation. The methyl-amino and 2-chloro-phenyl groups at the 2-position have an equatorial and an axial orientation, respectively. The packing of ions is stabilized by an infinite one-dimensional ⋯Cl⋯H-N-H⋯Cl⋯ hydrogen-bonding network, involving NH(2) (+) groups as donors and chloride anions as acceptors.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt [systematic name: (5α,6α)-7,8-didehydro-4,5-ep-oxy-17-methyl-morphinan-3,6-diol hydro-chloride], C17H20NO3(+)·Cl(-), the conformation of the morphinium ion is in agreement with the characteristics of the previously reported morphine forms [for example, Gylbert (1973 ▶). Acta Cryst. B29, 1630-1635]. In the crystal, the cations and chloride anions are linked into a helical chain propagating parallel to the b-axis direction by N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. The title salt and the morphine monohydrate [Bye (1976 ▶) Acta Chem. Scand.30, 549-554] display very similar one-dimensional packing modes of their morphine components.

Redetermination of dipotassium trichlorido-stannate(II) chloride monohydrate.

Project description:The title compound, K(2)[SnCl(3)]Cl·H(2)O, is the prototype of some isostructural compounds of composition M(2)[SnX(3)]X·H(2)O (M = large monovalent cation; X = halogen). In comparison with a previous study based on photographic data [Kamenar & Grdenić (1962 ▶). J. Inorg. Nucl. Chem.24, 1039-1045], its crystal structure has now been redetermined using CCD-based data in order to gain more accurate values for bond lengths and angles within the [SnCl(3)](-) anion and to locate the H atoms. The [SnCl(3)](-) anion has a trigonal-pyramidal shape and exhibits crystallographic mirror symmetry. With the exception of the K(+) ion which is located on a general position, all other atoms are situated on crystallographic mirror planes. The coordination polyhedron of the cation may be described by means of nine atoms in the form of a monocapped square anti-prism with seven typical K-Cl/O distances and two additional atoms at considerably longer distances. The positions of the H atoms of the water mol-ecule (also lying on a crystallographic mirror plane) could be determined and confirm the existence of a bifurcated O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond to neighbouring Cl atoms.
