Bis[3-ethyl-4-(4-methoxy-phen-yl)-5-(2-pyrid-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-?N,N]bis-(perchlorato-?O)copper(II) acetonitrile disolvate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(16)H(16)N(4)O)(2)]·2CH(3)CN, the Cu(II) atom, located on an inversion center, is in a tetra-gonally distorted octa-hedral environment, coordinated by four N atoms of two bidentate 3-ethyl-4-(4-methoxy-phen-yl)-5-(2-pyrid-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole ligands in equatorial positions and by the O atoms of two perchlorate groups in axial positions. The long axial Cu-O bond of 2.4743?(17)?Å is the result of the Jahn-Teller effect.

Project description:In the crystal of the dinuclear title compound, [Cu(2)(C(13)H(13)N(2)O)(2)(ClO(4))(2)]·2CH(3)CN, the two bridging perchlorate ions chelate to the two Cu(II) atoms in a ?-O:O' fashion on opposite sides of the equatorial plane. The Cu(II) ions display a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry (in the usual 4 + 2 Jahn-Teller arrangement), each being coordinated by two O atoms from the two perchlorate ligands, and two N and O atoms from the reduced Schiff base ligand. The asymmetric unit contains two acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, in addition to N-H?O hydrogen bonds, there are weak C-H?O inter-actions between the perchlorate O atoms and the reduced Schiff base ligand. C-H?N inter-actions are also present.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(17)H(12)N(6), the 2-pyridyl rings in the 3- and 4-positions and the 3-pyridyl ring in the 5-position make dihedral angles of 29.78?(16), 67.06?(16) and 32.97?(16)°, respectively, with the triazole group. The dihedral angle between the two 2-pyridyl rings is 65.72?(15)°. The dihedral angles between the 3-pyridyl ring and the two 2-pyridyl rings in the 3- and 4-positions are 61.28?(15) and 63.11?(15)°, respectively. In the crystal, C-H?? and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6248?(19)?Å] link the mol-ecules, forming a two-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(12)H(13)N(3))(C(2)H(3)N)], the Cu(II) atom is six-coordinate in a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedral geometry, with coordination by the tridentate chelating ligand, an acetonitrile mol-ecule, and two axial perchlorate anions. The tridentate ligand bis-(2-pyridylmeth-yl)amine chelates meridionally and equatorially while an acetonitrile mol-ecule is coordinated at the fourth equatorial site. The two perchlorate anions are disordered with site occupancy factors of 0.72/0.28. The amine H is involved in intra-molecular hydrogen bonding to the perchlorate O atoms and there are extensive but weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.

The intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is highly strained due to the mol-ecular geometry and, as a result, is much shorter than expected. Inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions are also observed.

There is an offset inter-complex face-to-face π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.718 (2) Å] involving one of the pyridine rings of the ligand as well as an intra-complex O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-action between the coordinated hydroxyl group of the ligand and the perchlorate counter-ion.

The Zn(II) atoms are bridged by the bpe ligands, which lie across centres of inversion, forming a zigzag chain along [001]. The void space of each unit cell is occupied by an acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule, which is connected to the complex mol-ecule by a weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(C(22)H(24)N(4)O)(CH(3)CN)][Zn(ClO(4))(C(22)H(24)N(4)O)(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(3), two differently coordinated zinc cations occur. In the first complex, the metal ion is coordinated by the N,N',N'',O-tetra-dentate acetamide ligand and an acetonitrile N atom, generating an approximate trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry, with the O atom in an equatorial site and the acetonitrile N atom in an axial site. In the second complex ion, a perchlorate ion is also bonded to the zinc ion, generating a distorted trans-ZnO(2)N(4) octa-hedron. Of the uncoordinating perchlorate ions, one lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and one lies close to a twofold axis and has a site occupancy of 0.5. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal. Disordered solvent mol-ecules occupy about 11% of the unit-cell volume; their contribution to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE routine of the PLATON program [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst. The compound is enanti-omerically pure and corresponds to the S diastereoisomer, with the optical activity originating from the chiral ligand. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected into three-dimensional supra-molecular networks through O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
