The benzene ring has an equatorial orientation. A C-H?? inter-action involving the benzene ring is found in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, C20H26O6, is chiral and crystallizes as a racemate: the relative configuration of the stereogenic centres is 1R*,2R*,3S*,4R*. The cyclo-hexane ring has a chair conformation. The ethyl fragment of the eth-oxy-carbonyl group in the 3-position is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.650?(6):0.350?(6) ratio. The hy-droxy group acts as a bifurcated hydrogen-bond donor, forming both intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds with ester carbonyl O atoms. The inter-molecular hydrogen bonds form inversion dimers in the crystal.

Project description:In the title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)OS, the pyridinone ring in the fused-ring system is nearly planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.011?Å) and the cyclo-hexene ring has a twisted half-boat conformation with the methyl-ene C atom adjacent to the methine C atom deviating by 0.592?(7)?Å from the plane defined by the remaining five atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.108?Å). Project description:In the title compound, C16H17NO3, the coumarin moiety is essentially planar [maximum deviation from the mean plane formed by the C and O atoms of the coumarin = 0.0183?(12)?Å] and that the cyclo-hexane ring adopts the usual chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the mean plane of the coumarin residue and the plane of the amide residue (defined as the N, C and O atoms) is 18.9?(2)°. There are two intra-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the amide group. In one, the N atom acts as donor to the ketonic O atom and in the other, the amide O atom acts as acceptor of a C-H group of the coumarin. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into inversion dimers by pairs of N-H?O contacts and these dimers are linked into pairs by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The combination of these inter-actions creates a chain of rings which runs parallel to [2-10]. C-H?? and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8654?(10)?Å] inter-actions are also observed.

In the crystal, inversion-related mol-ecules are linked by pairs of inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with R(2) (2)(12) ring motifs. These dimers are further connected by N-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a layer structure extending parallel to (0-12). A Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the contributions from the most prevalent inter-actions are H⋯H (41.2%), C⋯H/H⋯C (20.3%), O⋯H/H⋯O (17.8%) and N⋯H/H⋯N (10.6%).
