ABSTRACT: In the title mononuclear complex, [Ni(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))]·1.5H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is in a distorted square-planar coordination environment, formed by two O atoms from two methacrylate ligands and two N atoms from a bis-chelating dipyridylamine ligand. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link complex mol-ecules and water mol-ecules into one-dimensional chains.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains a dimeric [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) dication with two five-coordinated Cu(II) ions linked by two methacrylate ions in a syn-syn bridging arrangement. The dication possesses pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry. The penta-coordination of each Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with two N donors from a phenanthroline ligand and two carboxyl-ate O atoms occupying basal sites and the apical position being occupied by a water mol-ecule. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked to form a three-dimensional framework by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.6039 (15), 3.5301 (15), 3.6015 (15), 3.6496 (15) and 3.6858 (15) Å].

Bis(2,2'-bipyridine-κN,N')(maleato-κO,O)nickel(II) 7.34-hydrate.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(4)H(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·7.34H(2)O, was obtained by crystallization from an aqueous ethano-lic reaction mixture containing nickel(II) acetate, maleic acid, bipyridine, sodium hydroxide and ammonia. The asymmetric unit contains one independent complex mol-ecule and 7.34 water mol-ecules occupying eight crystallographically independent positions. Two of these water molecules are disordered. The nickel(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by two O atoms from one carboxyl-ate group of the maleato ligand and by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy) ligands. The water mol-ecules, along with the O atoms of the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate group, form an extended hydro-philic three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded system with large cavities in which the hydro-phobic bipy ligands are located. One H atom of the maleate ligand is involved in a weak hydrogen bond of the C-H⋯O type. Stacking inter-actions between the pyridyl rings of the bipy ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.549 (15) Å] lead to the formation of pairs of complex mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(4)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(4)][Ni(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(2)]·6H(2)O, is a mononuclear/dinuclear nickel(II) cocrystal, the two mol-ecular species inter-acting through hydrogen bonds that involve the uncoordinated water mol-ecules. In the mononuclear species, the Ni(II) ion, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two 1H-benzimidazole (bzim) ligands and two 3-hydroxy-benzoate (hba) anions in a square-planar geometry. In the centrosymmetric dinuclear species, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by two bzim ligands and three hba anions in a square-pyramidal geometry; of the two independent hba anions, one bridges two Ni(II) ions with both carboxylate and hydroxyl groups whereas the other coordin-ates in a unidentate manner to the Ni(II) ion. The apical Ni-O(hydrox-yl) bond is 0.39 Å longer than the basal Ni-O(carbox-yl) bonds. The face-to-face separation of 3.326 (9) Å indicates the existence of π-π stacking between parallel bzim ligands of adjacent dinuclear entities. Extensive N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(5)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(10)N(3))(2)]·6H(2)O, divalent nickel ions situated on the crystallographic twofold axis are octa-hedrally coordinated by four O atoms from two dimethyl-malonate ligands in a 1,3-chelating mode and two N atoms from two protonated monodentate 4,4'-dipyridylamine mol-ecules. The mol-ecules link into chains via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding mediated by protonated pyridyl groups. The chains form layer patterns via π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.777 (2) Å] . Water mol-ecule hexa-mers are generated from the unligated water mol-ecules (three per asymmetric unit) by inversion centers at Wyckoff position d. These clusters are situated between the pseudolayers, providing hydrogen-bonding pathways that build up the three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title Ni(II) complex, [Ni(C(7)H(4)ClO(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is centrosymmetric with the Ni atom located on an inversion centre. The mol-ecule contains two 2-chloro-benzoate (CB) and two nicotinamide (NA) ligands and two water mol-ecules, all ligands being monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl group and the adjacent benzene ring is 29.48 (16)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 83.16 (5)°. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into infinite chains. π-π Contacts between the benzene and pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.952 (1) Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure. There is also a C-H⋯π inter-action.
