ABSTRACT: In the title linear coordination polymer, [Zn(C(6)H(4)N(2)O(4)S(3))(H(2)O)(4)](n), the Zn(II) atom is coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and two O atoms from two [5-(carb-oxyl-atomethyl-sulfan-yl)-1,3,4-thia-diazol-2-ylsulfan-yl]acetate units in an octa-hedral coordination environment. The chains are linked into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network via O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

The thia-diazole rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 84.87?(4)°. Intra-molecular N-H?Cl inter-actions result in the formation of two six-membered rings having envelope and planar conformations. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(12)H(11)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, contains one-half of the complex mol-ecule and two uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules. The four water O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Zn(II) centre ( symmetry) form a distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry is completed by the O atoms of the zwitterionic 2-methyl-benzimidazolium-1,3-diacetate ligands in the axial positions. The benzimidazole ring system is planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.041 (3) Å. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a non-planar six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, strong intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π contacts between benzimidazole rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.899 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(9)H(9)N(3)S)(2)], the Zn(II) atom is four-coordinated by two N atoms from two 5-m-tolyl-1,3,4-thia-diazol-2-ylamine ligands and two Cl anions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Intra-molecular N-H⋯N, N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds result in the formation of one planar and one non-planar five-membered, one non-planar six-membered and one non-planar seven-membered ring. The six- and seven-membered rings have twist conformations, while the non-planar five-membered ring adopts an envelope conformation with the S atom displaced by 0.541 (3) Å from the plane of the other ring atoms. The planar five-membered ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 1.74 (3) and 1.08 (3)°, respectively, with respect to the adjacent aromatic and thia-diazole rings. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(NO(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(4)S(4))](n), the Cu(II) atom, occupying a crystallographic inversion centre, is six-coordinated by two N atoms of two 2,2'-[1,2-ethane-diyl-bis-(thio)]bis-[1,3,4-thia-diazole] ligands in trans positions, and four O atoms from two symmetry-related opposite nitrate anions, which are asymmetrically bonded, resulting in a strong distorted octa-hedral geometry of the central atom. The ethane group is equally disordered over two sites via another inversion centre. The bridging bidentate 2,2'-[1,2-ethanediylbis(thio)]bis-[1,3,4-thia-diazole] ligands link the Cu(II) centres into a one-dimensional chain. The chains are inter-connected via inter-molecular S⋯O inter-actions [3.044 (4) and 3.084 (5) Å] and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

The ligand L adopts two kinds of coordination modes in the crystal structure; one is a monodentate coordination mode and serves to complete the octa-hedral coordination of the Cu atom and the other is an N:N'-bidentate bridging mode in a trans configuration, bridging Cu atoms via translation symmetry along the b axis into a chain structure. The perchlorate ions serve as acceptors for inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the chains into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(12)H(8)N(4)S)](n), was obtained by crystallization of 2,5-di-4-pyridyl-1,3,4-thia-diazole with ZnCl(2) in an MeOH/CHCl(3) solvent system. The structure contains infinite chains of ZnCl(2) units connected by the bifunctional thia-diazole ligands, with Zn(II) adopting a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. The dihedral angle between the two pyridyl rings in each ligand is 34.3 (1)°, and the dihedral angles between the thia-diazole ring and the two pyridyl rings are 18.3 (2) and 16.1 (2)°. The shortest Zn⋯Zn distance within each polymeric chain is 11.862 (3) Å, while the shortest inter-chain Zn⋯Zn distance is 7.057 (3) Å.

The dihedral angle between the two thia-diazole rings is 27.77?(4)°. Inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing, linking the mol-ecules into a tape along the b axis.

The metal centre is coordinated in the basal sites by one water mol-ecule and two carboxyl-ate O atoms and one N atom of the tetra-dentate ligand [Cu-O range, 1.9376?(11)-1.9541?(12), Cu-N, 1.9929?(12)?Å] while the apical site is occupied by a hydro-quinone O donor atom [Cu-O, 2.3746?(12)?Å]. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonding inter-actions involving both hydro-quinone hydr-oxy groups and the coordinated water as donors give a three-dimensional framework structure.

One Fe(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment, with two chelating rings from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two O atoms from the water mol-ecules, while the other is in a distorted octa-hedral O(6) environment with two O atoms from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and four O atoms from the water mol-ecules. Both Fe(II) atoms lie on crystallographic centers of symmetry. The complex possesses an infinite chain structure running along the [101] direction. These chains are inter-connected by the uncoordinated water mol-ecules through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
