ABSTRACT: The Ni atom in the crystal structure of the centrosymmetric title compound, [Ni(C(19)H(15)N(6)S)(2)]·2C(2)H(6)OS, is N,S-chelated by the deprotonated Schiff bases in a square-planar geometry. The -CH=N-N=C(S)-NH-N=CH- frament is planar. The two indolyl -NH (donor) sites inter-act with dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules to furnish a layer motif.

The dihedral angle between the aromatic ring planes within the ligand is 86.37?(13)°. In the crystal structure, an N-H?O hydrogen bond links the complex to the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Co(C(13)H(11)N(4)O)(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)], is a mononuclear six-coordinated octa-hedral cobalt(II) complex of C(i) mol-ecular symmetry. The Co(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms from two 1,5-biphenyl-carbazide ligands, and two O atoms from two methanol molecules. Two diphenyl-carbazidate ligands and the central Co(II) ion form the basal plane, with the two methanol mol-ecules located in axial positions. The crystal packing is defined by bifurcated O-H?N hydrogen bonding and intra-molecular N-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) thio-cyanate with an excess of pyridazine leads to single crystals of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)]·2C(4)H(4)N(2). The Ni(II) cations are coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions (trans) and four pyridazine ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The discrete complexes are arranged into layers parallel to the ab plane which are separated by additional non-coordinated pyridazine ligands.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, C(15)H(12)N(4)O·H(2)O, were obtained from a condensation reaction of isonicotinylhydrazine and 3-indolylformaldehyde. The mol-ecule assumes an E configuration, with the isonicotinoylhydrazine and indole units located on the opposite sites of the C=N double bond. In the mol-ecular structure the pyridine ring is twisted with respect to the indole ring system, forming a dihedral angle of 44.72?(7)°. Extensive classical N-H?N, N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonding and weak C-H?O inter-actions are present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(18)H(19)N(3)O(2))(2)]·2C(2)H(6)OS or [Cu(2)(SalenN(3)H)(2)]·2DMSO, where SalenN(3)H is the multidentate Schiff base 2,2'-[(3-aza-pentane-1,5-di-yl)bis-(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate dianion and DMSO is dimethyl sulfoxide, is a solvated dinuclear Cu(II) complex. The neutral complex is built from two Cu(SalenN(3)H) units related by an inversion center. All heteroatoms in the Schiff bases coordinate the Cu(II) ions, which display highly distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometries. The solvent mol-ecules are located in the structural voids of the complex and are disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.642?(15) and 0.358?(15). The previously characterized acetone disolvate of the same complex presents identical mol-ecular and crystal structures, and crystallizes with cell parameters very close to those of the DMSO disolvate reported here.

The carbonyl group forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond with the NH group, creating a six-membered (C-N-C-N-H?O) ring. Two other N-H?O hydro-gen bonds link one mol-ecule of the thio-urea to two mol-ecules of DMSO.
