Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(13)N(2)O(+)·Cl(-), (1), was obtained as a colorless crystalline by-product during the synthesis of N-(2-pyridylmeth-yl)benzoyl-amine (2). The C-O bond length of 1.231 (2) Å in the benzoyl unit of (1) is slightly elongated in comparison with isolated C=O double bonds as also observed for (2) [1.237 (2) Å]. The N-C bond length of 1.345 (2) Å in the benzoic acid amide unit indicates the formation of an allylic O-C-N system and is very similar to the N-C bond lengths [1.345 (2) Å] of the pyridyl group. A further delocalization of charge from this allylic system into the phenyl fragment does not occur, which can be deduced from a characterisitc C-C single bond length of 1.499 (2) Å between these fragments. A dimer is formed via N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. The two rings make a dihedral angle of 105.0 (2)°

Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, C(7)H(11)N(2) (+)·Cl(-)·2H(2)O, the pyridine N atom of the 2-amino-4,6-dimethyl-pyridine mol-ecule is protonated. The cation is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.006 (2) Å. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H⋯O, N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, thereby forming sheets lying parallel to (100). The crystal structure is further stabilized by aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridinium rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.4789 (9) Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(6)H(7)N(2)O(2) (+)·Cl(-)·0.5H(2)O, consists of two protonated 2-amino-3-carb-oxy-pyridine cations, two chloride anions and one mol-ecule of water. The crystal packing can be described as alternating layers of cations and anions parallel to (110), which are linked together by O(w)-H?Cl inter-actions. In the crystal, four types of classical hydrogen bonds are observed, viz. cation-anion (O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl), cation-cation (N-H?O), cation-water (N-H?O(w)) and water-anion (O(w)-H?Cl), resulting in the formation of an infinite three-dimensional network.

Crystal structure of 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium chloride.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C5H8N3 (+)·Cl(-), comprises one half of the 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium cation (the other half being completed by the application of mirror symmetry) and one Cl(-) counter-anion, also located on the mirror plane. The amino N atom shows a significant pyramidalization, with a dihedral angle of 30.4 (14)° between the least-squares planes of the amino group and the non-H atoms of the 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium moiety. In the crystal, the cationic mol-ecules and Cl(-) counter-anions are arranged in sheets parallel to (001) consisting of alternating polar and non-polar parts associated with the the Cl(-) anions, pyridinium and amino moieties, and the pyridine rings, respectively. N-H⋯Cl inter-actions within the polar part, as well as slipped π-π inter-actions in the non-polar part, help to establish the three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title salt, C(6)H(7)N(6) (+)·Cl(-), there are two organic cations with similar conformations and two chloride anions in the asymmetric unit. The pyridine and tetra-zole rings are essentially coplanar in each cation, with dihedral angles of 4.94 (15) and 5.41 (14)°. The pyridine N atoms are protonated. The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H⋯N and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming an infinite sheets parallel to the (101).

In the crystal, N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link two cations and two anions into centrosymmetric group, and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules further link these groups into chains in [101]. An O-H⋯O inter-action is also present. The water mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.555 (13):0.445 (13) ratio.
