Crystal structure of 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium chloride.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C5H8N3 (+)·Cl(-), comprises one half of the 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium cation (the other half being completed by the application of mirror symmetry) and one Cl(-) counter-anion, also located on the mirror plane. The amino N atom shows a significant pyramidalization, with a dihedral angle of 30.4 (14)° between the least-squares planes of the amino group and the non-H atoms of the 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium moiety. In the crystal, the cationic mol-ecules and Cl(-) counter-anions are arranged in sheets parallel to (001) consisting of alternating polar and non-polar parts associated with the the Cl(-) anions, pyridinium and amino moieties, and the pyridine rings, respectively. N-H⋯Cl inter-actions within the polar part, as well as slipped π-π inter-actions in the non-polar part, help to establish the three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, (C5H8N3)2[CoCl4], the cations are protonated at their pyridine N atoms and the anion is an almost regular tetra-hedron. The crystal structure consists of alternating inorganic layers, built from tetra-chlorido-cobaltate anions, and organic layers formed by protonated cations of 2,6-di-amino-pyridinium. The crystal packing is governed by C/N-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the organic and the inorganic ions and Cl⋯Cl inter-actions. Moreover, the cations show a π-π stacking inter-action [inter-centroid distance = 3.763 (2) Å]. The prevalence of these inter-actions is illustrated by an analysis of the three-dimensional Hirshfeld surface and by two-dimensional fingerprint plots.

2,6-Di(pyrrolidin-1-yl)pyridinium chloride monohydrate.

Project description:In the organic cation of the title compound, C(13)H(20)N(3) (+)·Cl(-)·H(2)O, the two pyrrolidine rings adopt twisted conformations. The pyridine ring makes dihedral angles of 14.57 (6) and 23.96 (6)° with the mean planes of the pyrrolidine rings. In the crystal structure, pairs of bifurcated inter-molecular O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the water mol-ecules and chloride anions into an R(4) (4)(8) ring motif. Inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further inter-connect these rings with the organic cations into a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, C7H11N2 (+)·C7H6NO2 (-)·2H2O, the cation is protonated at the pyridine N atom and the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the CO2 (-) group in the anion is 8.5 (2)°. In the crystal, the cation forms an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond to the anion and the anion forms two N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to adjacent water mol-ecules. Both water mol-ecules form two O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to carboxyl-ate O atoms. In combination, these hydrogen bonds generate a three-dimensional network and two weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:The title salt, 2C7H11N2 (+)·2C7H4NO4 (-)·3H2O, crystallized with two anions and two cations in the asymmetric unit, together with three water mol-ecules. Both 4-di-methyl-amino-pyridinium cations are protonated at their pyridine N atoms with the plane of the N(CH3)2 hetero atoms inclined to the pyridine ring by 4.5 (2) and 1.4 (2)°. In the 2-nitro-benzoate anions, the carboxyl and nitro groups are inclined to their respective benzene rings by 77.1 (3) and 20.0 (3)°, and 75.8 (2) and 20.9 (3)°. In the crystal, the anions are linked via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules, forming chains along [100]. The cations are linked to these chains by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The chains are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π and π-π inter-actions [inter-centroid distances range from 3.617 (1) to 3.851 (1) Å], forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, (C2H8N)(C7H11N2)[PbCl4], is a hybrid organic-inorganic material. It crystallizes in the space group C2/c and contains one half of a mol-ecule of lead chloride, 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium, and di-methyl-ammonium in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure exhibits chains of lead chloride capped by 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium and di-methyl-ammoium by hydrogen bonding. This creates a one-dimensional zipper-like structure down the a axis. The crystal structure is examined and compared to a similar structure containing lead chloride and di-methyl-benzene-1,4-diaminium.

Crystal structure of bis-[4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium] aqua-bis-(oxalato)oxidovanadate(IV) dihydrate.

Project description:The title organic-inorganic hybrid salt, (C7H11N2)2[V(C2O4)2O(H2O)]·2H2O, shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment for the vanadium(IV) atom in the anion (point group symmetry 2), with four O atoms from two symmetry-related chelating oxalate dianions and two O atoms in trans configuration from a coordinating water mol-ecule and a terminal vanadyl O atom. In the crystal, (001) layers of cations and anions alternate along [001]. The anionic layers are built up by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinating and solvent water mol-ecules. The cationic layers are linked to the anionic layers via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the pyridinium group and the non-coordinating O atoms of the oxalate group. The 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium cations are also engaged in π-π stacking with their anti-parallel neighbours [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.686 (2) Å]. Considering all supra-molecular features, a three-dimensional network structure is accomplished.

Project description:In the title solvated salt, C9H14N(+)·Cl(-)·C19H24O2·0.5C7H7, two mol-ecules of 4,4'-(propane-2,2-di-yl)bis-(2,6-di-methyl-phenol) are linked via O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to two chloride ions, each of which is also engaged in N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding to a 4-tert-butyl-pyridinium cation, giving a cyclic hydrogen-bonded entity centred at 1/2, 1/2, 1/2. The toluene solvent mol-ecule resides in the lattice and resides on an inversion centre; the disorder of the methyl group requires it to have a site-occupancy factor of 0.5. No crystal packing channels are observed.
