Catena-Poly[[4',5'-bis-(methyl-sulfan-yl)-4,5-ethyl-enedithio-tetra-thio-fulvalene] [[dichloridomercurate(II)]-μ-dichlorido]].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, {(C(10)H(10)S(8))[HgCl(3)]}(n), is a sulfur-rich charge-transfer compound in which C(10)H(10)S(8) (+) cations and HgCl(3) anions are assembled by S⋯S [3.371 (5)-3.588 (5) Å] and S⋯Cl [2.833 (4)-3.488 (4) Å] contacts, and by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional wave-like structure. The two C atoms of the -CH(2)-CH(2)- group in one of the cations are disordered over two sites with relative occupancies of 0.83 (2) and 0.17 (2).

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [CuI(C(14)H(18)N(4)S(2))](n), the Cu(I) center is trigonally coordinated by two pyrimidine N-atom donors from two distinct dithio-ether ligands and one iodide anion. The Cu and I atoms are located on a twofold axis, whereas the midpoint of the central C-C bond of the dithio-ether ligand is located on an inversion center. Each organic ligand, acting in a bidentate mode, bridges two Cu(I )ions, resulting in the formation of polymeric zigzag chains. The dihedral angle between the two pyrimidine units bonded to the metal center is 88.01 (2)°. The crystal packing is mainly stabilized by van der Waals forces and π-π stacking inter-actions, with an inter-planar distance between the pyrimidine rings of adjacent chains of 3.638 (3) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, C(12)H(10)N(2)S(6), all non-H atoms, except for those in the ethyl groups, lie in the same non-crystallographic plane, with a r.m.s. deviation of 0.0366 (5) Å. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds between methyl and cyano groups, forming centrosymmetric dimers. The dimers are arranged along the a axis, due to inter-molecular N⋯S [3.337 (4) Å] inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(34)H(28)S(8), contains two crystallographically independent half-mol-ecules. The mol-ecules lie on centers of inversion. The four benzene rings of each mol-ecule are substantially twisted from the planes of the 1,3-dithiole rings, forming dihedral angles of 43.6 (2) and 61.4 (1)° in one mol-ecule and 54.2 (1) and 65.2 (1)° in the other.

In the crystal, the benzoic acid mol-ecules are linked via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with R22(8) motifs. The dimers are linked through weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a chain structure along [-101]. The chains stack along the a axis through S⋯S and S⋯C short contacts, forming layers parallel to the ac plane.

Project description:The structure of the electrochemically crystallized title compound, (C(10)H(8)S(8))(3)[CoCl(4)](2), consists of two types of bis-(ethyl-enedithio)tetra-thia-fulvalene (BEDT-TTF) radical cation stacks separated by sheets of tetra-hedral [CoCl(4)](2-) anions. One of the BEDT-TTF mol-ecules is generated by inversion. There are short S⋯S contacts between the stacks in the a direction and short C-H⋯Cl contacts between the radical cations and the anions.

Project description:A new phase combining BEDT-TTF and [Cu(NCS)4]2- as the counter-anion, namely bis-[bis(ethyl-enedi-thio)-tetra-thia-fulvalenium] tetra-thio-cyanato-cuprate(II) bis-[bis(ethyl-ene-di-thio)-tetra-thia-fulvalene], (C10H8S8)2[Cu(NCS)4]·2C10H8S8 or (BEDT-TTF)4[Cu(NCS)4] was obtained during a galvanostatic electrocrystallization process. As previously observed with BEDT-TTF-based compounds with oxalatometallate anions, the BEDT-TTF mol-ecules in (BEDT-TTF)4[Cu(NCS)4] exhibit the so-called pseudo-κ arrangement, with two BEDT-TTF mol-ecules being positively charged and two electronically neutral. The bond lengths and angles in the two unique BEDT-TTF mol-ecules differ slightly. The crystal structure consists of layers of BEDT-TTF mol-ecules extending parallel to (001). The width of this layer corresponds to the length of the a axis [16.9036 (17) Å]. The BEDT-TTF layers are separated by layers of centrosymmetric square-planar [Cu(NCS)4]2- dianions.

Project description:In the cyrstal structure of the title compound, [Cu(NCS)(C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2))](n), the Cu(I) atom is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two imino N atoms from a bidentate chelating Schiff base ligand, and one N and one S atoms from two thio-cyanate anions. The thio-cyanate anion bridges the Cu(I) atoms, forming a zigzag chain along [101]. The Schiff base ligand adopts an E,E configuration and the dihedral angle between the terminal benzene rings is 53.68 (8)°.
