ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(10)H(8)O(3), the dihedral angle between the approximately planar tetra-hydro-furan-2,5-dione ring [maximum deviation 0.014?(3)?Å] and the phenyl ring is 85.68?(8)°. Weak C-H?O=C inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding contacts are observed in the structure.

Project description:The title pseudo-polymorph of 3-(tri-phenyl-phospho-ranyl-idene)-2,5-di-hydro-furan-2,5-dione crystallizes with a tetra-hydro-furan solvent mol-ecule, viz. C22H17O3P·C4H8O. The succinic anhydride ring is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.032?Å). The tetra-hydro-furan mol-ecule is disordered over two orientations about a pseudo-twofold axis with refined occupancy ratio 0.718?(4):0.282?(4). In the crystal, C-H?O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules of the di-hydro-furan-2,5-dione derivative into chains parallel to the b axis and arranged into layers stacked along [100] alternating with hydrogen-bonded tetra-hydro-furan layers.

Project description:The title compound, [Na(μ-C6F5BH3)(C4H8O)2]2, represents a dimeric structure of sodium and organoborohydride, located about a centre of inversion. The Na⋯B distances of 2.7845 (19) and 2.7494 (18) Å were apparently longer than the Li⋯B distances (2.403-2.537 Å) of the lithium organotri-hydro-borates in the previous reports. Moreover, an inter-action between the sodium atom and one fluorine atom on the 2-position of the benzene ring is observed [Na-F = 2.6373 (12) Å]. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules are stacked along the b-axis via a π-π inter-action between the benzene rings.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(18)H(20)O(3), is a furan-oid lignan extracted from the leaves of Larrea tridentata. The relative absolute configuration for the four chiral centers was established, showing that this compound is 4-epi-larreatricin, which has been previously reported in the literature. The mol-ecule displays noncrystallographic C(2) symmetry, with the methyl and phenol substituents alternating above and below the mean plane of the furan ring. The conformation of this ring is described by the pseudorotation phase angle P = 171.3° and the maximum out-of-plane pucker ?(m) = 37.7°. These parameters indicate that the furan ring adopts the same conformation as the ribose residues in B-DNA. The packing is dominated by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The phenol hy-droxy groups form chains in the [110] direction and these chains inter-act via O-H?O(furan) contacts.

Project description:The Ru(II) atom in the title compound, [RuCl(2)(C(15)H(10))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]·2C(4)H(8)O, has a distorted square-pyramidal conformation. The P and Cl atoms are at the base of the pyramid and the Ru-C(indenyl-idene) bond is in the axial position. The two Cl ligands and the two phosphane ligands are in trans positions. The Cl-Ru-Cl and P-Ru-P angles are 157.71?(2) and 166.83?(2)°, respectively. The two independent tetra-hydro-furan (THF) solvent mol-ecules are disordered. One THF mol-ecule was refined using a split-atom model. The second THF mol-ecule was accounted for by using program PLATON/SQUEEZE [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. The molecular conformation shows three intramolecular C-H?Cl contacts and two C-H?? interactions while the crystal packing features an intermolecular C-H?Cl contact and two very weak intermolecular C-H?? contacts.
