Fac-Aqua-dichloridotris(tetra-methyl-ene sulfoxide-?S)ruthenium(II).

ABSTRACT: The title mol-ecule, [RuCl(2)(C(4)H(8)OS)(3)(H(2)O)], is the isomer with the two chloride ligands cis and the three S-coordinated tetra-methyl-ene sulfoxide ligands facial relative to the Ru(II) center. The Ru-Cl distances are 2.4161?(7) and 2.4317?(7)?Å, the Ru-O distance is 2.1540?(19)?Å, and the Ru-S distances are in the range 2.2254?(8)-2.2657?(7)?Å, with the shortest being that trans to the aqua ligand. The coordinated water mol-ecule forms inter-molecular hydrogen bonds with Cl and sulfoxide O atoms.

Project description:In the title compound, (NH(4))(2)[Fe(C(10)H(12)N(2)O(8))(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O, the Fe(II) center is in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. Two carboxyl-ate O and two N atoms from the ethyl-enediaminetetra-acetate (EDTA) ion and one O atom from coordinated water comprise the equatorial plane. Two other carboxyl-ate O atoms from the EDTA ion occupy the apical sites. Both ammonium cations and all water mol-ecules function as hydrogen-bond donors, and ten N-H⋯O and nine O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional network between the complex anions, cations and the water mol-ecules.

It crystallizes with two half mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The complete mol-ecules are generated by inversion symmetry, with the center of the pyrazine rings being located at crystallographic centres of inversion. The ligand coordinates two NiII ions in a bis-penta-dentate manner and the sixfold coordination sphere of each nickel(II) atom (NiS2O3N) is completed by a water mol-ecule. The complex crystallized as a hepta-hydrate. The binuclear complexes are linked by Owater-H⋯Ocarbon-yl hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the (101) plane. This layered structure is additionally stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving binuclear complexes and solvent water mol-ecules, together with weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, link the layers to form a supra-molecular framework.

A new monoclinic polymorph of dichlorido-tetra-kis(dimethyl sulfoxide)-ruthenium(II).

Project description:The title compound, cis,fac-dichloridotetra-kis(dimethyl sulfoxide)-κ(3)S,κO-ruthenium(II), [RuCl(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(4)], was obtained from newly synthesized ruthenium complexes of 3-amino-2-chloro-pyridine. The Ru atom has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two cis-oriented chloride ligands and four dimethyl sulfoxide ligands. Three of the sulfoxide ligands are S-bonded in a fac configuration, while the fourth is O-bonded. The title compound represents a new, and fourth, polymorph of the complex. Two other monoclinic forms and an ortho-rhom-bic modification have been reported previously.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(12)H(11)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, contains one-half of the complex mol-ecule and two uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules. The four water O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Zn(II) centre ( symmetry) form a distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry is completed by the O atoms of the zwitterionic 2-methyl-benzimidazolium-1,3-diacetate ligands in the axial positions. The benzimidazole ring system is planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.041 (3) Å. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a non-planar six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, strong intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π contacts between benzimidazole rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.899 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure.

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(C(8)H(8)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], is centrosymmetric with the Ni(II) ion located on a centre of symmetry. It contains two 4-(methyl-amino)benzoate (PMAB) anions and four coordinated water mol-ecules. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by two O atoms of the PMAB anions in the axial positions. Project description:In the title salt, [(CH3)2NH2][Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4], one type of cation and anion is present in the asymmetric unit. The Cu(II) atom in the complex anion, [Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4](-), has a tetra-gonal bipyramidal [4 + 2] coordination caused by a Jahn-Teller distortion, with the aqua ligands in equatorial and two O atoms of tetra-hedral HSO4 and SO4 units in apical positions. Both types of ions form sheets parallel to (010). The inter-connection within and between the sheets is reinforced by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, respectively, involving the water mol-ecules, the two types of sulfate anions and the ammonium groups.

Project description:The reaction of di-chlorido-tetra-kis-(dimethyl sulfoxide)-ruthen-ium(II) with N,N-bis[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]methyl-amine aff-ords the title complex, [RuCl2(C13H15N3)(C2H6OS)]. The asymmetric unit contains a well-ordered complex mol-ecule. The N,N-bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]methyl-amine (bpma) ligand binds the cation through its two pyridyl N atoms and one aliphatic N atom in a facial manner. The coordination sphere of the low-spin d (6) Ru(II) is distorted octahedral. The dimethyl sulfoxide (dmso) ligand coordinates to the cation through its S atom and is cis to the aliphatic N atom. The two chloride ligands occupy the remaining sites. The bpma ligand is folded with the dihedral angle between the mean planes passing through its two pyridine rings being 64.55 (8)°. The two N-Ru-N bite angles of the ligand at 81.70 (7) and 82.34 (8)° illustrate the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry of the Ru(II) cation. Two neighboring molecules are weakly associated through mutual intermolecular hydrogen bonding involving the O atom and one of the methyl groups of the dmso ligand. One of the chloride ligands is also weakly hydrogen bonded to a pyridyl H atom of another molecule.

An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π inter-actions between the imidazole and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.9031 (17) Å] consolidate the crystal packing.
