ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Eu(2)(C(14)H(10)N(2)O(6)S(2))(H(2)O)(14)](C(14)H(10)N(2)O(6)S(2))(2)·10H(2)O, the complete bimetallic cation is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The Eu atom adopts a distorted dodeca-hedral coordination arising from one O-bonded 2,2'-azinodibenzene-sulfonate ligand and seven water mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, the components are linked by multiple O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrate, 2[Sn(H(2)O)(2)(OH)(2)Br(6)]·7H(2)O, comprises two [Br(3)(H(2)O)Sn(?-OH)(2)SnBr(3)(OH(2))] units, but three independent mol-ecules as two of these are disposed about inversion centres, and seven water mol-ecules. In common with the monoclinic polymorph [Howie et al. (2005 ?). Inorg. Chim. Acta, 358, 3283-3286], each of the dinuclear species features a central Sn(2)O(2) core, distorted octa-hedral Sn atom geometries defined by a Br(3)O(3) donor set, and an anti-disposition of the coordinated water mol-ecules. In the crystal, O(h)-H?O(w), O(a)-H?O(w), O(w)-H?O(w), and O(w)-H?Br (h = hydroxyl, a = aqua, w = water) hydrogen-bonding inter-actions generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, (NH(4))(3)[GaMo(6)(OH)(6)O(18)]·7H(2)O, contains two centrosymmetric GaMo(6) B-type Anderson cluster units consisting of central GaO(6) octa-hedra surrounded by a hexa-gonal assembly of MoO(6) edge-sharing octa-hedra. Like other B-type Anderson clusters, where the central Mo atom is substituted with a di- or trivalent metal ion, the central six μ(3)-oxido bridges are protonated. The average Ga-O bond length is 1.97 (1) Å, whereas the average Mo-O distances are 2.29 (2), 1.94 (1) and 1.709 (5) Å, respectively, for Mo-(μ(3)-OH), Mo-(μ(2)-O) and Mo=O bonds. In the crystal structure, the Ga(μ(3)-OH)(6)Mo(6)O(18) (3-) polyanionic clusters are surrounded by NH(4) (+) cations and solvent water mol-ecules, forming an extended network of hydrogen bonds.

The complex crystallized as a hepta-hydrate. The binuclear complexes are linked by Owater-H⋯Ocarbon-yl hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the (101) plane. This layered structure is additionally stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Project description:The crystalline product (NH4)2[Zn(C3H7NO)(H2O)5]2[V10O28]·4H2O was success-fully isolated from an H2O/DMF solvent combination by evaporation at ambient temperature. The salt crystallizes in the P21/n space group. Imidazole, initially used in the synthesis but not present in the product, and DMF solvent appear to affect the synthesis and crystallization as structural-directing agents. In the title compound, the complex cation [Zn(H2O)5(DMF)]2+ acts as a counter-ion without being directly coordinated to the deca-vanadate anion. An extensive framework of hydrogen bonds integrates the whole architecture as evidenced by X-ray crystallography. The polyoxometalate [V10O28]6- lies on a center of symmetry while the complex cation [Zn(H2O)5(DMF)]2+ links three adjacent anions through a set of 2 + 2 + 3 hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, [Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)][Mn(2)(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, consists of mononuclear manganese(II) cations, dinuclear manganate(II) dianions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The dianion is located about an inversion center; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, a sulfonatoisophthalate group, a water mol-ecule along with two bridging water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral geometry. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and a chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A partially overlapped arrangement between the bipyridine ligands and the aromatic ring of the sulfoisophthalate group of adjacent anions is observed; the distance (3.357 Å) indicates π-π stacking. Hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecules serving as hydrogen-bond donors, lead to a three-dimensional network architecture.

Project description:The title compound, (NH(4))(5)Na(7)[Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](2)·21H(2)O, was prepared under atmospheric conditions in aqueous solution at room temperature. The structure contains the [Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](6-) heteropolyoxometallate anion, which has been previously reported a number of times with a variety of differing counter-cations. Each anion is built up of five MoO(6) octa-hedra sharing an edge and forming a ring which is closed by common corners of the terminal octa-hedra. The rings are closed on both sides by two asymmetric PO(4) tetra-hedra, sharing three corners with three MoO(6) octa-hedra. The anions are chiral and the two independent anions in the asymmetric unit were arbitarily chosen with the same chirality, but the centrosymmetric crystal contains both enanti-omers. The structure can alternatively be described as a succession of layers parallel to (101), formed by the [Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](6-) anions and linked by sodium chains. Water mol-ecules and ammonium ions fill the remaining space and ensure the cohesion through extensive N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.
