Project description:The title compound, C(6)H(6)N(2)O(2)S, is a new polymorphic form of 2-(pyrimidin-2-ylsulfan-yl)acetic acid. Unlike the previous orthorhombic polymorph [Pan & Chen (2009 ?) Acta Cryst. E65, o652], the mol-ecules are not planar: the aromatic ring makes an angle of 80.67?(17)° with the carboxyl plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N hydrogen bonds into chains along [02].

Project description:The title compound, C(9)H(8)O(2)S(2), can be used as a chain transfer agent and may be used to control the behavior of polymerization reactions. O-H?O hydrogen bonds of moderate character link the mol-ecules into dimers. In the crystal, the dimers are linked into sheets by C-H?O inter-actions, forming R(4) (2)(12) and R(2) (2)(8) edge-fused rings running parallel to [101]. There are no inter-molecular inter-actions involving the S atoms.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(7)H(11)NO(3)S(2), contains two independent mol-ecules with similar mol-ecular structures. The morpholine ring adopts a chair conformation, and the C(2)N-C(=S)-S fragment is planar in the two independent mol-ecules (r.m.s. deviations = 0.01 and 0.02?Å). The two mol-ecules are disposed about a false center of inversion and are held together by a pair of O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The crystal studied was a racemic twin; the minor twin component refined to 17%.

The distances of the central N atom to the N atoms of three pyridine rings in the arms are 8.305?(7), 8.032?(7) and 5.076?(9)Å. In the crystal, mol-ecules are joined into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network via effective ?-? stacking between adjacent heterocycles [centroid-centroid distances of 3.700?(3)-4.118?(4)?Å between adjacent inter-layer pyrimidine rings and 3.676?(4)?Å between the pyridine rings].
