ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title compound, [Pb(C(13)H(10)NO(4)S)(2)(H(2)O)(5)], two S-O bonds and one C-N bond have lengths of 1.421?(9), 1.425?(8) and 1.268?(11)?Å, respectively, which suggests they are double bonds. Mol-ecules form a two-dimensional layered structure via O-H?O and O-H?N inter-actions. The Pb atom adopts distorted cubo-octahedral coordination.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [Cu(C11H16N3O3S)2], shows the Cu(II) atom with a distorted square-planar coordination geometry from the N2O2 donor set of the two chelating 2-{[bis-(dimethyl-amino)-methyl-idene]amino}-benzene-sulfonate ligands. The Cu(II) atom lies 0.065?(1)?Å above the N2O2 plane and the Cu-O [2 × 1.945?(2)?Å] and Cu-N bond lengths [1.968?(3) and 1.962?(3)?Å] lie in expected ranges. The two aromatic ring planes make a dihedral angle of 85.48?(1)°.

Project description:A new tetra-dentate unsymmetrical Schiff base, C(15)H(10)N(4)O, has been synthesized from 4,5-dicyano-o-phenyl-enediamine and o-vanillin in refluxing ethanol. Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(13)H(11)NO(4)S, displays a trans configuration with respect to the imine C=N double bond. The central benzene ring directly linked to N and the hydroxyl group are disordered over two orientations [occupancies of 0.510 (16)/0.490 (16) and 0.528 (8)/0.472 (8), respectively]. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 23.3 (5)° for the major component and 18.3 (5)° for the minor component. There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond and mol-ecules are linked into chains along the a axis by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The inter-molecular hydrogen bonding results in an extended helical chain along a 21 screw axis parallel to c, due to hydrogen bonding from the coordinating water ligand to the lattice water mol-ecule and then to a sulfonate O atom of a different asymmetric unit.
