ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(7)H(8)NO(2) (+)·H(2)PO(3) (-), is formed from alternating layers of organic cations and inorganic anions stacked along the a-axis direction. They are associated via O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonding, giving rise to two different R(2) (2)(8) graph-set motifs and generating a three-dimensional network.

Reinvestigation of 4-methyl-anilinium dihydrogen phosphite.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(7)H(10)N(+)·H(2)PO(3) (-), has been reported previously by Sabounchei & Naghipour [Asian J. Chem. (2003) ?, 15, 1677-1686]. A new look at this compound has revealed doubling of the unit cell. The asymmetric unit consists of two 4-methyl-anilinium cations and two dihydrogen phosphite anions. The crystal structure is built upon alternating layers of organic cations and dihydrogen phosphite anions stacked along c. The organic layer is stabilized by C-H?? interactions. Weak aromatic ?-? stacking interactions with centroid-centroid distances of 4.6147?(12), 4.6917?(12), 4.6932?(13) and 4.8366?(13)?Å are also observed in the structure. The dihydrogen phosphite anions are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains running parallel to the a-axis direction. These chains are connected to the cation layer by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(10)NO(2) (+)·H(2)PO(4) (-), is a derivative of the naturally occurring compound methyl-anthranilate. The asymmetric unit comprises the 2-(methoxy-carbon-yl)anilinium cation and the dihydrogen phosphate anion. In the cation, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring plane and that through the methyl ester substituent is 22.94 (9)°. In the crystal, adjacent cations and anions form dimers through N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, respectively. Additional N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O contacts result in a network of cation and anion dimers stacked down the b axis.

Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, 2C(7)H(8)NO(2) (+)·SO(4) (2-)·H(2)O, each cation in the asymmetric unit is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The O atoms of the sulfate ion are disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.541 (13):0.459 (13), which possibly optimizes the acceptance of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds from the cations. The crystal structure also features aromatic π-π stacking [centroid-centroid separation = 3.842 (2) Å] and a C-H⋯π inter-action.

Project description:In the title compound, C(7)H(8)NO(2) (+)·0.5C(2)O(4) (2-), the asymmetric unit consists of an 3-carboxy-anilinium cation, and one-half of an oxalate anion, which lies on a twofold rotation axis. The crystal packing is consolidated by inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The structure is built from infinite chains of cations and oxalate anions extending parallel to the b and c axes. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin. The ratio of the twin components refined to 0.335?(3):0.665?(3).
