ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(17)H(20)O(3), the five-membered cyclo-pentyl ring displays an envelope conformation, with the atom at the flap position 0.538 (3) Å out of the mean plane formed by the other four atoms. The dihedral angle between the benzene and furan rings is 63.34 (15)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a zigzag chain along [101].

Project description:In the title compound, C(24)H(24)O(4), a derivative of the potent insecticide and miticide spiro-mesifen, one cyclo-pentane C atom is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.574 (12) and 0.426 (12), resulting in respective envelope and twisted conformations for the cyclo-pentane ring. The atom at the flap position is 0.620 (5) Å out of the mean plane formed by the other four atoms of the envelope form. The furan ring makes dihedral angles of 68.26 (3) and 69.38 (2)°, respectively, with the 2,4,6-trimethyl-phenyl and benzene rings. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 62.27 (3)°.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(15)NO(2), was prepared as one of two products of the AlCl(3)/POCl(3)-catalysed reaction of 9-carbazol-1-ol with 3,3-dimethyacrylic acid. It crystallizes with two crystallographically independent mol-ecules, A and B, which are virtually superimposable but not related by any translational or other pseudosymmetry. Both independent mol-ecules are almost planar [r.m.s. deviations from planarity = 0.053 (1) and 0.079 (1) Å in A and B, respectively] and contain an intramolecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. Each type of mol-ecules is connected via pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming centrosymmetric A(2) and B(2) dimers which are, in turn, arranged in offset π-stacks extending along the a-axis direction. The offset of the dimers and the tilt angle of the mol-ecules allows the formation of alternating C-H⋯π inter-actions between A and B mol-ecules of parallel stacks.

Project description:In the title compound, C(21)H(16)O(2), the six crystallographically independent mol-ecules (Z' = 6) all exist in the enolized form. Strong intra-molecular hydrogen bonds are observed: one approximate H-atom-centered O⋯H⋯O hydrogen bond, two tautomeric forms O-H⋯O (three mol-ecules) and O⋯H-O (two mol-ecules). Only one weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond between two neighboring mol-ecules is observed in the crystal structure. In addition, eight very weak non-conventional inter-molecular C-H⋯π hydrogen-bonding contacts between mol-ecules are observed.
