N-(2-Ferrocenylethyl-idene)-4-(trifluoro-meth-yl)aniline.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(13)H(9)F(3)N)], was prepared by a condensation reaction from ferrocenylcarbaldehyde and 4-(trifluoro-meth-yl)aniline. The cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings are coplanar [dihedral angle = 1.4 (3)°] and the imine function is situated in the same plane. The aromatic substituent is bent out of the plane of the Cp ring to which the imine group is attached by 44.5 (4)°. The F atoms of the trifluoro-methyl substituent are disordered [occupancies 0.52 (2)/0.48 (2)].

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(10)F(6)N(4)O(2)S, an intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds forms an S(5) ring whereas N-H⋯O and C-H⋯S inter-actions complete S(6) ring motifs. The dihedral angle between the fused ring system and the phenyl ring is 6.68 (8)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are dimerized due to N-H⋯O inter-actions. π-π inter-actions are present between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6913 (15) Å] and between the five membered ring and the trifluoro-meth-yl)phenyl ring [centroids-centroid distance = 3.7827 (16) Å]. One of the trifluoro-meth-oxy F atoms is disordered over two sites with occupancy ratio of 0.76 (3):0.24 (3). The F atoms of the p-trifluoro-methyl substituent are disordered over three sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.70 (2):0.152 (11):0.147 (13).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C(15)H(9)F(6)N(3)O·H(2)O, contains two independent Schiff base mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule. Both Schiff base mol-ecules exist in an E configuration with respect to the C=N double bonds and the dihedral angles between the benzene and the pyridine rings in the two mol-ecules are 17.53 (12) and 20.62 (12)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into infinite one-dimensional chains along the a axis. In addition, inter-molecular O-H⋯N, O-H⋯F, C-H⋯F and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further link these chains into a three-dimensional network. Weak π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.6495 (17)-3.7092 (16) Å are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(16)F(3)NO(4), is an N-substituted derivative of ortho-trifluoro-methyl-aniline featuring a twofold Michael system. The least-squares planes defined by the atoms of the phenyl ring and the atoms of the Michael system enclose an angle of 15.52 (5)°. Project description:The mol-ecule of the title Schiff base compound, C(18)H(12)Cl(2)F(6)N(2), adopts an E configuration with respect to the azomethine C=N bond. Intra-molecular C-H?F (× 2) and C-H?Cl (× 2) hydrogen bonds generate S(5) ring motifs. The imino group is coplanar with the aromatic ring. Within the mol-ecule, the planar units are parallel, but extend in opposite directions from the methyl-ene bridge, as indicated by the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of 3.74?(6)°. The inter-esting features of the crystal structure are weak inter-molecular Cl?N and F?F inter-actions, with distances of 2.9192?(11) and 3.2714?(10)?Å, respectively, which are shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii of the relevent atoms. These inter-actions link neighbouring mol-ecules into dimers which are stacked down the b axis.
