ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(18)H(12)N(6)S)], contains one half-mol-ecule situated on a twofold rotation axis which passes through the Co and S atoms. The metal centre is in a distorted octahedral CoCl(2)N(4) coordination with the Cl atoms in the axial positions. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H?Cl inter-actions help to establish the packing.

Project description:In the macrocyclic centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Ag(2)(C(19)H(14)N(6)S(2))(2)](ClO(4))(2), the Ag(I) atom, bis-{[4-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrimidin-2-yl]sulfan-yl}methane (2-bppt) ligand and perchlorate anion each lie on a twofold rotation axis. The 2-bppt ligand chelates two four-coordinated Ag(I) atoms through its two bipyridine-like arms. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered each over two positions of equal occupancy. Adjacent complex mol-ecules are linked by ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine and pyrimidine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.663?(8)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, [CoBr(2)(C(18)H(12)N(6)S)], is a mononuclear complex in which a twofold rotation axis passes through the Co and S atoms. The Co(II) center is six-coordinated by four N atoms from one bis-[4-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrimidin-2-yl] sulfide (L) ligand and two bromide anions, forming an octa-hedral coordination geometry, where the four donor N atoms are located in the equatorial plane and the Br atoms occupy the axial positions. The sum of the bond angles around the Co atom in the equatorial plane is 360.5°, with the four N atoms and the central Co atom almost coplanar. In the crystal structure, the mononuclear units are linked by ?-? stacking inter-actions (the inter-planar distances are 3.469 and 3.533?Å, and the corresponding centroid-centroid distances are 3.791 and 3.896?Å) into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(13)H(9)N(4))(2)(HSO(4))(2)]·2CH(3)OH, consists of discrete centrosymmetric dinuclear complex mol-ecules and methanol solvent mol-ecules. The Cu(II) atom shows a square-pyramidal coordination geometry and is bonded to four N atoms of the two bis-chelating 3,5-bis-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrazol-ate ions (bpypz(-)) and one O atom of the hydrogensulfate ion. The bpypz(-) ligands in the complex mol-ecule are virtually coplanar [dihedral angle between the mean ligand planes = 0.000(1)°] with the Cu(II) atom deviating in opposite directions from their best plane by 0.2080?(12)?Å. ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridyl and pyrazole rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.391?(3)?Å] and strong O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the hydrogensulfate ligands and the methanol mol-ecules assemble the mol-ecules into a one-dimensional polymeric structure extending along the a axis. The methanol mol-ecule acts both as an accepter and a donor in the hydrogen bonding.
