3-Acetyl-4-hydroxy-phenyl acrylate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(12)H(12)O(4), the hydr-oxy O and the C and O atoms of the acetyl group are almost coplanar [maximum deviation = 0.0356 (1) Å] with the benzene ring. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the plane through the non-H atoms of the methacrylo-yloxy group is 86.1 (1)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by two C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with graph-set descriptor R(2) (2)(16). A strong intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(10)H(10)O(4), is a functionalized carbonate used in the synthetic route to organic glasses. The central CH fragment of the allyl group is disordered over two positions, with occupancies in a 0.758?(10):0.242?(10)ratio. This disorder reflects the torsional flexibility of the oxygen-allyl group, although both disordered parts present the expected anti-clinal conformation, with O-CH(2)-CH=CH(2) torsion angles of -111?(2) and 119.1?(4)°. The crystal structure is based on chains parallel to [010], formed by O?H-O hydrogen bonds involving hydroxyl and carbonyl groups as donors and acceptors, respectively. The mol-ecular packing is further stabilized by two weak C-H?? contacts from the benzene ring of the asymmetric unit with two benzene rings of neighboring mol-ecules.

Project description:In the crystal structure of title compound, C(9)H(10)N(2)OS, there are two symmetry-independent mol-ecules, each having an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond generating an S(6) ring motif. The benzene rings and the virtually planar acetyl-thoiurea fragments [r.m.s. deviations = 0.0045 and 0.0341?Å] are oriented at dihedral angles of 50.71?(6) and 62.79?(6)° in the two mol-ecules. In the crystal, N-H?S and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules via cyclic R(2) (2)(8) and R(2) (2)(12) motifs into a one-dimensional polymeric network extending along [101]. The intra- and inter-molecular N-H?O inter-actions are part of a three-center hydrogen bond. A C-H?S inter-action also occurs.

Project description:In the title compound (systematic name4-bromoacetyl-1,2,3-oxadiazol-3-ylium-5-olate), C(10)H(7)BrN(2)O(3), the 1,2,3-oxadiazole ring and bromo-acetyl group are essentially planar [maximum deviation = 0.010 (4) and 0.013 (3) Å respectively] and form dihedral angles of 59.31 (19) and 67.96 (11)°, respectively, with the phenyl ring. The 1,2,3-oxadiazole ring is twisted slightly from the mean plane of the bromo-acetyl group, forming a dihedral angle of 9.16 (24)°. The dimers are further connected by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into an infinite tape parallel to the b axis. In addition, π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6569 (19) Å] and short inter-molecular contacts [O⋯O = 2.827 (3) and C⋯C = 3.088 (5) Å] are observed.
