The mol-ecular symmetry is C(i) and thus the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the aromatic ring and the plane of the oxamide group is 70.8 (3)°. The perchlorate anions and the cations are connected by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The Ti(IV) atom is coordinated by two fully deprotonated O,N,O'-tridentate phen-oxy-amine ligands in a distorted octa-hedral environment. The two 2-hy-droxy-3-methyl-benzyl groups are located in trans positions with respect to the imidazolidine fragment. The crystal structure is stabilized by a strong π-π inter-action between the pyridinium rings of adjacent mol-ecules [ring centroid-centroid distance = 3.464 (3) Å].
