9-{4-[(E)-2-(4,6-Dimethyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)ethen-yl]phen-yl}-9H-carbazole.

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(25)H(20)N(4), the triazinyl ring is nearly coplanar with the planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.028?Å) phenyl-ethenyl unit, the twist being only 5.8?(2)°; however, the planar carbazolyl unit (r.m.s. deviation = 0.008?Å) is twisted by 47.8?(1)° with respect to the phenyl-ethenyl unit. The nonplanar nature of the mol-ecule explains the phenomenon of light emission at short wavelengths in the solid state but at long wavelengths in solution.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions, forming chains extend along the a axis. Also present are weak π-π inter-actions between triazine rings [minimum ring centroid separation = 3.7427 (11) Å].

Methyl 2-(4,6-dichloro-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl-amino)acetate.

Project description:The title compound, C(6)H(6)Cl(2)N(4)O(2), was prepared by the nucleophilic substitution of 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine by glycine methyl ester hydro-chloride, and was isolated from the reaction by using flash chromatography. The crystal structure at 150 K reveals the presence two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit which differ in the orientation of the pendant methoxy-carbonyl group. Each mol-ecular unit is engaged in strong and highly directional N-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions with a symmetry-related mol-ecule, forming supra-molecular dimers which act as the synthons in the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, C(23)H(46)N(6)O(2), the two hy-droxy groups are located on opposite sides of the triazine ring. One of the hy-droxy groups links with the triazine N atom via an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond. Inter-molecular O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure. ?-? stacking is also observed between parallel triazine rings of adjacent mol-ecules, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.5944?(14)?Å.

Project description:In the main mol-ecule of the title compound, C21H18Br3N3·CH2Cl2, the triazinane ring adopts a chair conformation with three 4-brom-ophenyl substituents, two in diaxial positions and the third in an equatorial arrangement (eaa). The torsion angles around the N-C bonds in the triazinane ring are in the range 55.6?(5)-60.1?(5)°. The structure can be described as being built up of alternating layers along the b axis with the CH2Cl2 solvent mol-ecules sandwiched between these layers. No classical hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(22)BNO(2), is a simple olefinic compound which carries both B and N atoms that are trans to one another. The ?-conjugated system of the compound is considered to be isoelectronic with 1,3-butadiene. There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit in which the environments around the boron atoms are essentially planar (r.m.s. deviations of 0.0032 and 0.0021?Å for the BO(2)C planes). The dihedral angles of the olefinic planes with the boron planes are 5.70?(11) and 9.74?(9)°, respectively, while the dihedral angles of the olefinic planes with the carbazole planes are 19.37?(3) and 10.74?(6)°. These dihedral angles are consistent with those in 9-ethenylcarbazole and an ethenylboronic ester derivative. The N-Csp(2), B-Csp(2) and C=C bond lengths suggest that the contribution of the canonical structure can be described as N(+)=C-C=B(-).

Project description:The title compound, C(32)H(31)N(3)O(4), was obtained in a Suzuki coupling of carbazole diboronic acid and bromo-nitro-benzene. In the crystal, the mol-ecule adopts a non-symmetric conformation. The carbazole ring system is approximately planar [maximum deviation from the least-squares plane = 0.039?(2)?Å]. The planes of the carbazole unit and the benzene rings subtend dihedral angles of 48.42?(7) and 41.81?(6)°. The dihedral angles between the planes of the nitro-phenyl rings and the nitro groups are 44.34?(19) and 61.64?(15)°. The crystal is built from two strands of parallel mol-ecules with inter-digitated octyl chains. These strands are symmetry related by a twofold screw axis.

Project description:Two virtually superimposable mol-ecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(27)H(27)N(3). The range of dihedral angles between the central 1,3,5-triazine ring and the attached benzene rings is 20.88?(14)-31.36?(14)°, and the shape of each mol-ecule is of a flattened bowl. The crystal packing features weak C-H?? bonds and ?-? inter-actions between triazine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid separations = 3.7696?(17) and 3.7800?(18)?Å] that result in the formation of supra-molecular layers in the ac plane. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a minor twin component of 20.7?(3)%.
