Project description:The title compound, C(4)H(2)BrNO(3), is one of a series of three substituted oxauracils prepared as precursors in the preparation of 1-aza-1,3-butadienes. Although each structure has identical potential for N-H?O inter-molecular hydrogen bonds, each forms a distinctive inter-molecular network. In the title compound, there are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, with a non-crystallographic twofold screw-like relationship between them. The two indpendent mol-ecules are linked by an inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, this hydrogen-bonded pair is linked to translationally related mol-ecules through further inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming one-dimensional chains along [100]. The crystal structure also has short Br?O=C inter-molecular contacts with distances of 2.843?(4) and 2.852?(4)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(12)N(4)O(3), is an imidazole derivative featuring an annealed purine ring system. The benzimidazole-inspired moiety is essentially planar (r.m.s. of all fitted non-H atoms = 0.0205 Å). An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed, which connect the mol-ecules into chains along [110]. The shortest centroid-centroid distance between two aromatic systems is 3.7771 (11) Å.

Project description:Uracil, the pyrimidine nucleobase, which combined with adenine forms one of the major motifs present in the biopolymer RNA, is also involved in the self-assembly of RNA. In the title compound, C(9)H(14)N(4)O(2)·2H(2)O, the asymmetric unit contains one dimethyl-amino-uracil group and two water mol-ecules. The plane of the N=C-NMe(2) side chain is inclined at 27.6?(5)° to the plane of the uracil ring. Both water mol-ecules form O-H?O hydrogen bonds with the carbonyl O atoms of the uracil group. Additional water-water hydrogen-bond inter-actions are also observed in the crystal structure. The O-H?O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network cage consisting of two dimethyl-amino-uracil groups and six water mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(13)NO(2), represents a conformationally restricted 2-pyridone analogue of 1,4-dihydro-pyridine-type calcium antagonists and was selected for a crystal structure determination in order to explore some aspects of drug-receptor inter-action. In the mol-ecule, two stereogenic centres are of opposite chirality, whereas a racemate occurs in the crystal. It was found that the formally aminic N atom of the heterocycle is essentially sp(2)-hybridized with the lone-pair electrons partially delocalized through conjugation with the adjacent carbonyl bond. As a result, the central pyridone ring assumes an unsymmetrical half-chair conformation. The critical 4-phenyl ring is fixed in a pseudo-axial and perpendicular orientation [dihedral angle 85.8?(1)°] with respect to the pyridone ring via an oxygen bridge. In the crystal a pair of centrosymmetric N-H?O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules of opposite chirality into a dimer. The dimers are packed by hydrophobic van der Waals inter-actions.

The essentially planar oxazole ring [maximum deviation = 0.004 (2) Å] is inclined at a dihedral angle of 36.00 (8)° to the tetra-hydro-isoquinoline unit. In the crystal structure, pairs of inter-molecular C-H⋯O and O-H⋯N inter-actions link the mol-ecules into chains incorporating R(2) (2)(9) ring motifs. Two neighbouring chains are further inter-connected by inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions into chains two mol-ecules wide along the a axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title xanthene compound, C(25)H(30)O(5), contains two mol-ecules in which the pyran ring and the dimeth-oxy-phenyl ring are nearly perpendicular to one another [dihedral angles = 86.81?(8) and 84.45?(9)°]. One of the meth-oxy groups in one mol-ecule is twisted away from the phenyl ring [C-O-C-C torsion angle = -103.40?(16)°]. The pyran ring adopts a boat conformation whereas the two fused cyclo-hexane rings adopt envelope conformations in both mol-ecules. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H?O hydrogen bonds.
