ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(13)H(17)NO(3), crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming chains propagaiting in [100]. A weak C-H?O inter-action also occurs.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into inversion dimers by weak C-H?O inter-molecular inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(14)N(2), was obtained from reaction of diaminona-phthalene with acetone. In both independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, the tricyclic perimidine consists of a planar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.0125 and 0.0181 Å) naphthalene ring system and an envelope conformation C(4)N(2) ringwith the NCN group hinged with respect to the naph-thalene backbone by 36.9 (2) and 41.3 (2)° in the two independent molecules. The methyl substituents are arranged approximately axial and equatorial on the apical C atom. In the crystal, one of the N-H groups of one independent mol-ecule is involved in classical N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding. Short inter-molecular (C/N)-H⋯π(arene) inter-actions, near the short T-shaped limit, link mol-ecules in the absence of strong acceptors.

Project description:In the title compound, C(16)H(22)N(2)OS(2), the S atom of the thia-diazole ring and the attached methyl groups are disordered over two orientations with a refined site-occupancy ratio of 0.641?(11):0.359?(11). The thia-diazole ring is in a twist conformation in both disorder components. The mean plane through the thia-diazole ring makes dihedral angles of 77.39?(8) (major component) and 67.45?(11)° (minor component) with the benzene ring. Intra-molecular C-H?N inter-actions generate two S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H?O hydrogen bonds into zigzag chains parallel to the b axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(15)NO(2), was prepared from 1-hydroxy-carbazole and 3,3-dimethyl-acrylic acid with a mixture of AlCl(3) and POCl(3) as the cyclization catalyst. Owing to the presence of the -CMe(2)- group, the mol-ecule is not quite planar. In the crystal structre, strong N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weaker C-H⋯π inter-actions occur, and a slipped π-π stacking inter-action [centroid-centroid separation = 3.8425 (8) Å] is also observed.

Project description:The conformation of the N-H bond in the title compound, C(10)H(11)Cl(2)NO, is syn to both the 2- and 3-methyl substituents in the aromatic ring, similar to that of the 2-chloro and 3-chloro substituents in 2,2-dichloro-N-(2,3-dichloro-phen-yl)acetamide and the 2-methyl substituent in 2,2-dichloro-N-(2-methyl-phen-yl)acetamide, but in contrast to the anti conformation observed with respect to the 3-methyl substituent in 2,2-dichloro-N-(3-methyl-phen-yl)acetamide. The bond parameters in the title compound are similar to those in 2,2-dichloro-N-phenyl-acetamide and other acetanilides. The mol-ecules of the title compound are linked into chains through N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

The dihedral angles between the thio-imidazole rings are 81.59?(5) and 67.04?(4)°. One mol-ecule exhibits local twofold rotation symmetry, while the other displays no local symmetry. Inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?S inter-actions are observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C14H17N3O3, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the five-membered di-hydro-pyrazole ring is 52.26 (9)°. The ethyl ester group is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation 0.0568 Å) and subtends an angle 67.73 (8)° to the pyrazole ring. In the crystal, molecules are linked by pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with an R 2 (2)(10) ring motif. Weaker C-H⋯O contacts link these dimers into a three-dimensional network of mol-ecules stacked along the a-axis direction. Offset π-π stacking inter-actions between the benzene rings [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.8832 (12) Å] further stabilize the crystal packing.
