ABSTRACT: In the title complex, {[Ag(2)Nd(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(H(2)O)(2)]NO(3)·H(2)O}(n), the Nd(III) ion is coordinated by eight O atoms from six isonicotinate ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted square anti-prismatic geometry. Each Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two different isonicotinate ligands. The crystal structure exhibits a two-dimensional heterometallic polymeric layer. O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and intra-layer ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.571?(2) and 3.569?(2)?Å] are observed. Each layer inter-acts with two neighboring ones via Ag?O(H(2)O) contacts and inter-layer ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.479?(3) to 3.530?(3)?Å], leading to a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Ag(2)Gd(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(H(2)O)(2)]NO(3)·H(2)O}(n), the Gd(III) ion is coordinated by eight O atoms from six isonicotinate ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted square anti-prismatic geometry. Two Ag(I) ions are each bonded to two N atoms from two isonicotinate ligands in a linear or bow-like fashion [N-Ag-N angles = 178.6?(2) and 147.1?(2)°]. These metal ions are connected by the isonicotin-ate ligands into a layer parallel to (010). O-H?O hydrogen bonds donated by the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and intra-layer ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.551?(4) and 3.555?(4)?Å] are observed. The layers inter-act with each other by inter-layer Ag?O(aqua) contacts [2.731?(4)?Å] and ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.466?(3) and 3.516?(3)?Å], resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

The inic ligands, which are protonated at the pyridine N atom, link the metal centres, forming a polymeric chain running parallel to the a axis. The chains are further assembled via intra- and inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network involving the inic ligands, the water mol-ecules and the perchlorate anions. One of the perchlorate ions is disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.561?(17) and 0.439?(17).

Project description:In the title compound, {[AgSm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(C(2)O(4))]·H(2)O}(n), the asymmetric unit contains one Sm(III) ion, one Ag(I) ion, two unique isonicotinate (ina) ligands, two half oxalate (ox) ligands (one on an inversion centre, the other on a twofold axis) and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The central Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by four O-donor atoms from separate bidentate bridging ox ligands and five O-donor atoms from the two ina ligands (both bidentate) and a symmetry-related ina ligand [Sm-O = 2.389?(4)-2.791?(4)?Å], giving a distorted monocapped square anti-prismatic geometry. The Ag(I) ion is three-coordinated in a T-shaped geometry involving two ina N-donor atoms [Ag-N = 2.181?(6) and 2.185?(5)?Å] and a bridging oxalate O-donor atom [Ag-O = 2.620?(4)?Å]. The three-dimensional heterometallic Sm-Ag coordination polymer, having a unique (3,4,6)-connected five-nodal net topology, is constructed from two-dimensional samarium-oxalate layers and pillared Ag(ina)(2) subunits. Inter-molecular water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are also present.

Project description:In the coordination polymer, {[Pr(C(6)H(5)O(7))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), seven of the nine coordination sites of the monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry are occupied by three O atoms of the same citrate trianion (an O atom of the hy-droxy unit and the formally single-bond O atoms from two carboxyl units). The Eu(III) ion adopts a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, being coordinated by four O atoms from bridging carboxyl-ate groups of four isonicotinate ligands, two O atoms from chelating carboxyl-ate groups of one isonicotinate ligand and two O atoms from coordinated water mol-ecules; adjacent Eu(III) ions in the chain are related by inversion. The water mol-ecules interact with the ligands via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds [O⋯O = 2.782 (3)-2.881 (3) Å], which link the chains into a three-dimensional structure.

The Ag(I) ion is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two N atoms from two monodentate 2-pzc ligands, one O atom from one monodentate oxalate ligand and one O atom of a bridging carboxyl-ate group of a 2-pzc ligand. The oxalate anions link neighbouring neodymium(III) metal centres into Nd-oxalate chains, which are inter-connected by Ag(2-pyz)(2) units, forming a three-dimensional polymeric framework. Inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure.
