The mean planes of the nitro groups are twisted slightly from the benzene rings, forming dihedral angles in the range 2.3?(2)-8.6?(3)°. The S-S bond length is 2.0458?(7)?Å. Each S atom is essentially coplanar with the benzene ring to which it is attached, with deviations from the ring planes of 0.0163?(5) and 0.0538?(5)?Å. Project description:The title compound, C32H30N4O2S4, consists of two Schiff base moieties, namely two S-benzyl-β-N-(2-hy-droxy-phenyl-ethyl-idene)di-thio-carbazate groups, which are connected through an S-S single bond. These two moieties are twisted with respect to each other, with a dihedral angle of 87.88 (4)° between the S2C=N planes. A bifurcated intra-molecular O-H⋯(N,S) hydrogen bond is observed in each moiety. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into inversion dimers. The dimers are further stacked in a column along the b axis through weak C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(4)H(6)O(2)S(4), was prepared by repeating, with subtle improvements, a multi-step route originally described by Mott & Barany [J. Chem. Soc. Perkin Trans. 1 (1984) ▶, pp. 2615-2621]. The title compound was obtained for the first time as a crystalline material. The two [(methyl-sulfan-yl)carbon-yl]sulfenyl moieties are essentially perpendic-ular to each other, each approximately planar (r.m.s. deviations of 0.02 and 0.01 Å) and with a C-S-S-C torsion angle = 90.99 (6)°, which compares well with the theoretical value of 90°.

Project description:The whole mol-ecule of the title porphyrin, C46H32N6O4·2C6H5NO2, which crystallized as a nitro-benzene disolvate, is generated by inversion symmetry. The porphyrin macrocycle is almost planar, the maximum deviation from the mean plane of the non-hydrogen atoms is 0.097 (2) Å. The aryl rings at the meso positions are inclined to this mean plane by 74.84 (6)° for the nitro-phenyl rings and 73.37 (7)° for the tolyl rings. In the crystal, the porphyrin mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [100]. The solvent mol-ecules are also linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [100]. Inter-digitation of the p-tolyl groups along the c axis creates rectangular channels in which the solvent mol-ecules are located.
