ABSTRACT: In the title linear coordination polymer, {[Cu(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(10)N(4))]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two different symmetry-related 1,4-diimidazol-1-ylbenzene (dib) ligands and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two acetate ligands in a square-planar geometry. The Cu atoms are linked by the dib ligands, forming an extended chain. These chains are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The Cu(II) atom lies on a center of inversion.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(12)H(6)O(4))(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (naph) dianions, two imidazole mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Cu-O bond distance in the apical direction is 0.509?(3)?Å longer than the mean Cu-O bond distance in the basal plane. The naph dianion bridges two Cu(II) cations, forming a one-dimensional polymeric chain. The coordinated water mol-ecule is hydrogen-bonded to the carboxylate groups and imidazole ligands of adjacent polymeric chains, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. No ?-? stacking is observed in the crystal structure. One solvent water molecule is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the binuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, is located on an inversion centre. The Cu atoms are bridged by two O atoms of the monodentate phenyl-acetate groups [Cu-O = 1.9808?(14) and 2.3668?(14)?Å]. The longer of the two bridging Cu-O bonds takes the apical position of the distorted square-pyramidal environment of the Cu atom, which is completed by two N atoms of the chelate 2,2'-bipyridine ligand [Cu-N = 2.0107?(17) and 2.0234?(16)?Å]. The mol-ecules are assembled into stacks along [100] through ?-? inter-actions with inter-planar distances of 3.630?(4) and 3.407?(3)?Å; the resulting stacks are further connected into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(14)H(11)O(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]NO(3)·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two O atoms from one benzilate ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A supra-molecular network is formed via inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. ?-? stacking inter-actions between neighboring pyridine rings are also present, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.808?(2)?Å.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric bimetallic complex, [Cu(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(4)], is composed of two copper(II) cations, four acetate anions and four isonicotinamide (INA) ligands. The asymmetric unit contains one copper cation to which two acetate units bind asymmetrically; one of the Cu-O distances is rather long [2.740?(2)?Å], almost at the limit of coordination. These Cu-O bonds define an equatorial plane to which the Cu-N bonds to the INA ligands are almost perpendicular, the Cu-N vectors subtending angles of 2.4?(1) and 2.3?(1)° to the normal to the plane. The metal coordination geometry can be described as a slightly distorted trigonal bipyramid if the extremely weak Cu-O bond is disregarded, or as a highly distorted square bipyramid if it is not. The double acetate bridge between the copper ions is not coplanar with the CuO(4) equatorial planes, the dihedral angle between the (O-C-O)(2) and O-Cu-O groups being 34.3?(1)°, resulting in a sofa-like conformation for the 8-member bridging loop. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds occur, some of which generate a head-to tail-linkage between INA units, giving raise to chains along [101]; the remaining ones make inter-chain contacts, defining a three-dimensional network. There are in addition a number of C-H?O bonds involving aromatic H atoms. Probably due to steric hindrance, the aromatic rings are not involved in significant ??? inter-actions.

It is coordinated by two formate O atoms, two water O atoms and two N atoms from two 1,4-bis-(1H-benzimidazol-1-yl)benzene (bzb) ligands, resulting in a distorted trans-NiN(2)O(4) octa-hedral coordination geometry. The bzb mol-ecule acts as a bridging ligand to connect the metal atoms into a chain propagating in [1[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]]. The dihedral angle between the benzimidazole ring and the central benzene ring in the ligand is 38.16 (9)°. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds crosslink the chains into (010) sheets.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(4)], was prepared by the reaction of imidazole and trichloro-acetatocopper(II). The Cu(II) atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, binding the N atoms of four imidazole ligands and the carboxyl-ate O atoms of two trichloro-acetate anions. The mol-ecular structure and packing are stabilized by N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. Close inter-molecular Cl?Cl contacts [3.498?(3)?Å] are also found in the structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N(3))(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The N atoms of the two chelating symmetry-related 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligands and the O atoms of the two monodentate acetate anions are nearly coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.157?(2)?Å and the Cu(II) ion is displaced by 0.050?(3)?Å from this plane towards the apical water O atom. Bridging through the bis-monodentate 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligand forms a one-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to [010]. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure parallel to (100). The crystal studied was an inversion twin with a 0.57?(3):0.43?(3) domain ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(6)(C(2)H(6)SO)(2)](n), the Mn(II) ions exhibit similar MnO(6) octa-hedral coordination geometries but with different coordination environments. One type of Mn(II) ion is surrounded by five acetate groups and a terminal dimethyl sulfoxide group, while the other lies on a twofold axis and is coordinated by six O atoms from three symmetry-related acetate ions. The acetate anions exhibit three independent bridging modes, which flexibly bridge the Mn(II) ions along the c-axis direction, forming an infinite chain structure; the chains are further inter-connected through weak C-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.
