ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(6)H(8)N(2)O(2), was prepared from 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine, acetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide. The 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine 1,4-dioxide mol-ecule is located on an inversion center. π-π inter-actions between neighboring 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine 1,4-dioxide mol-ecules are observed with an inter-planar distance of 3.191 Å. Each 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine 1,4-dioxide mol-ecule is linked to four neighboring N-oxide mol-ecules through C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, forming two-dimensional layers.

Project description:In the title complex, {[Co(C(6)H(8)N(2)O(2))(C(9)H(7)NO(2))(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2)}(n), the Co(II) ion lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. The 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine 1,4-dioxide ligand, which also lies on an inversion center, acts as a bridging ligand, linking symmetry-related Co(II) ions [Co?Co = 8.669?(3)?Å] and forming one-dimensional chains along the b axis. In the crystal structure, these chains are linked by inter-molecular aqua-perchlorate O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional layers which are in turn connected into a three-dimensional network via ?-? stacking inter-actions between quinoline rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.580?(3)?Å. An intermolecular O-H?Cl inter-action is also present.

In the crystal, ?-? stacking inter-actions between neighboring mol-ecules are observed, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.7370?Å, an inter-planar distance of 3.167?Å, and a slippage of 1.984?Å. Each mol-ecule is linked to four neighbors through C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, forming one-dimensional ribbons.

Project description:The title compound, C(22)H(26)N(4), was prepared from p-dimethyl-amino-propiophenone in six steps. The mol-ecule has no crystallographic symmetry. The dihedral angles between the pyrazine ring and the phenyl rings are 35.81?(6) and 37.11?(8)°. The dimethyl-amino groups are essentially planar (sum of the bond angles at N = 359.3 and 359.9°) and nearly coplanar with the adjacent aromatic ring [dihedral angles = 5.54?(11) and 7.40?(3)°]. This effect and the short aniline C-N bonds can be rationalised in terms of charge transfer from the amino groups to the central pyrazine ring.

The dimethyl-ammonium cation forms one N-H?O hydrogen bond and another bifurcated N-H?O hydrogen bond. The hy-droxy group links with the sulfonyl group via an inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond. These N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(30)O(2), was prepared by Friedel-Crafts alkyl-ation of 1,4-dimeth-oxy-benzene with 2-methyl-2-butanol. The complete mol-ecule is generated by the application of a crystallographic centre of inversion. The two meth-oxy groups are oriented in the same plane of the aromatic ring [C-C-O-C torsion angle = 9.14?(16)°]. While one methyl group of the tert-pentyl substituent is coplanar with the benzene ring [C-C-C-C = 0.45?(15)°] and lies towards the less-hindered H atom, the other methyl and ethyl groups are directed to either side of the benzene ring [C-C-C-C torsion angles = 118.78?(12) and 59.11?(14)°, respectively]. In the crystal, the hydro-phobic mol-ecules pack to form a brick-wall-like architecture.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(H2O)6](BF4)2·3C4H4N2O2, comprises discrete [Cu(H2O)6](2+) cations and BF4 (-) anions along with three equivalents of pyrazine 1,4-dioxide (pzdo). The hexa-aqua-copper(II) ion and all three pzdo mol-ecules lie about crystallographic inversion centers. The lattice is supported by an extensive hydrogen-bonding network. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the [Cu(H2O)6](2+) and pzdo units creates a pseudo-hexa-gonal lattice parallel to the bc plane. The BF4 (-) anions lie in the voids of that lattice, held in place by O-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, and also generate BF4 (-)-pzdo-BF4 (-)-pzdo stacks via short F⋯N contacts [2.866 (3)-3.283 (4) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, (C(12)H(20)N(2))[ZnCl(4)]·H(2)O, the two piperazine N atoms are protonated and the [ZnCl(4)](2-) anions adopt a slightly distorted tetra-hedral configuration. In the crystal, O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the tetra-chloridozincate anions and the water mol-ecules into corrugated inorganic chains parallel to [010]. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, with the N-H hydrogen bond originating from one of the two N atoms being trifurcated.

Project description:The title compound, C(26)H(30)N(4), was prepared by condensation of tetra-methyl-pyrazine and dimethyl-amino-benzaldehyde and crystallizes from chloro-form/methanol in two different forms. Block-shaped crystals belong to the monoclinic crystal system and plates to the triclinic system. The two crystal forms differ in the arrangement of the centrosymmetric mol-ecules, which have nearly identical geometries. In the monoclinic crystals reported here, planar mol-ecules [maximum deviation = 0.062?(2)?Å], with a transoid arrangement of the (E)-styryl units and completely planarized dimethylamino groups [sum of the C-N bond angles = 359.9?(2)°], form layers connected via H-?-stacking. The dihedral angle between the central and pendant rings is 1.30?(8)°. The triclinic polymorph contains two half molecules, both completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry.
