Nonapiperidinium monohydrogen deca-vanadate tetra-nitrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, (C(5)H(12)N)(9)[HV(10)O(28)](NO(3))(4), contains a monoprotonated deca-vanadate polyanion which lies on an inversion center. All the piperidinium cations adopt chair conformations. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds form chains along [001]. As well as half of a polyanion, the asymmetric unit contains one full and two half-occupancy nitrate ions and four full occupancy and one half-occupancy piperidinium cations; the half-occupancy piperidinium cation is disordered over two general sites with occupancies of 0.32 and 0.18, and is, in turn, disordered over an inversion center.

Project description:The title compound, {[Na(H(2)O)(4)](6)[V(10)O(28)]·2H(2)O}(n), crystallized from a H(2)O/THF/CH(3)CN solution (pH ca 6) containing equimolar amounts of NaVO(3) and N-(2-hydroxy-benz-yl)-N-(2-picol-yl)glycine. In the crystal structure, the deca-vanadate [V(10)O(28)](6-) anion ( symmetry) is coordinated, via four terminal oxide ligands of V centres, to two dinuclear [{Na(H(2)O)(3)}(2)(?-H(2)O)(2)](2+) units. Inter-connection of these aquasodium-ion-sandwiched deca-vanadates to chains parallel to [001] is effected by ?-[{Na(H(2)O)(3)}(2)(?-H(2)O)(2)](2+) units, bridging adjacent deca-vanadates via O=V. The structure is consolidated by an extensive network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(2)H(8)N)(6)[V(10)O(28)]·H(2)O, the [V(10)O(28)](6-) polymetalate anion has crystallographic mirror symmetry with six V atoms and 12 O atoms lying on the mirror plane. Each of the V(V) atoms adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Eight terminal O atoms are bonded to V(V) atoms with double bonds and the others act as bridging atoms. In the crystal structure, a network of N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds helps to establish the packing.

Project description:In the title ammonium polyoxometallate salt, (C(6)H(16)N)(4)[H(2)V(10)O(28)], the anion features O atoms engaged in ?(6)-, ?(3)- and ?(2)-bridging of adjacent V(V) atoms, confering an octa-hedral coordination at each of the twenty unique metal atoms. Two anions are linked by ?(3)- and ?(2)-bridged OH units across a center of inversion, forming a dimer which is linked to the cations by N-H?O hydrogen bonds. The cation is disordered over two positions in a 0.776?(4):0.224?(4) ratio in one of the two independent ion pairs in the asymmetric unit, and 0.627?(10):0.373?(10) in the other.

Project description:The crystalline product (NH4)2[Zn(C3H7NO)(H2O)5]2[V10O28]·4H2O was success-fully isolated from an H2O/DMF solvent combination by evaporation at ambient temperature. The salt crystallizes in the P21/n space group. Imidazole, initially used in the synthesis but not present in the product, and DMF solvent appear to affect the synthesis and crystallization as structural-directing agents. In the title compound, the complex cation [Zn(H2O)5(DMF)]2+ acts as a counter-ion without being directly coordinated to the deca-vanadate anion. An extensive framework of hydrogen bonds integrates the whole architecture as evidenced by X-ray crystallography. The polyoxometalate [V10O28]6- lies on a center of symmetry while the complex cation [Zn(H2O)5(DMF)]2+ links three adjacent anions through a set of 2 + 2 + 3 hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C7H10N)4[H2V10O28]·2H2O, was solved from a non-merohedrally twinned crystal (ratio of twin components ?0.6:0.4). The asymmetric unit consists of one-half deca-vanadate anion (the other half completed by inversion symmetry), two 2,6-di-methyl-pyridinium cations and one water mol-ecule of crystallization. In the crystal, the components are connected by strong N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a supra-molecular chain along the b-axis direction. There are weak C-H?O inter-actions between the chains.

Project description:The title compound, 2C(2)H(10)N(2) (2+)·B(14)O(20)(OH)(6) (4-), consists of a centrosymmetric tetra-deca-borate anion and two ethyl-enediammonium cations. The anions are inter-connected through strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network with channels along [100], [010], [001] and [111]. Project description:The complete polyoxidometallate anion in the title compound, (CH6N3)4[H6V4As6O30]·4H2O, is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The polyhedral building units are distorted VO6 octa-hedra and AsO3OH tetra-hedra. The VO6 units feature a short formal V=O double bond and are linked by a common edge. Two such V2O6 double octahedral units are linked by four isolated AsO3OH tetra-hedra to complete the anion, which features two inter-nal O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the polyoxidometallate anions generate (01-1) sheets. The sheets are connected by cation-to-cluster N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and cation-to-water N-H⋯O links also occur. The O atom of one of the water mol-ecules is disordered over two sites in a 0.703 (17):0.297 (17) ratio.

Project description:The title compound, K(4)Sb(2)SnF(14), is built from anionic layers, with an overall composition of [Sb(2)SnF(14)](4-) extending parallel to the ac plane, and K(+) cations. The layers are made up from vertex-sharing centrosymmetric SnF(6) octa-hedra and Sb(2)F(12) dimers. The Sn-F distances are in the range 1.9581 (14)-1.9611 (17) Å. The Sb polyhedra contain three short terminal Sb-F bonds [1.9380 (14)-2.0696 (15) Å], one short bridging bond [2.0609 (17) Å], one bridging bond of medium length [2.7516 (15) Å], and two longer bridging bonds [3.0471 (18) and 3.117 (2) Å]. The K(+) ions are coordinated by F atoms with coordination numbers 10 and 8, and K-F bond lengths are in the range 2.6235 (16)-3.122 (2) Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(4)[V(4)O(12)]·4H(2)O, contains half of a [V(4)O(12)](4-) anion, two 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridinium, (2a4mpH)(+), cations and two water mol-ecules. One water mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancies and the H atoms for this mol-ecule were not included in the refinement. The cation lies on an inversion center with four tetra-hedral VO(4) units each sharing two vertices, forming an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the components are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a one-dimensional network along [100]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5420?(18), 3.7577?(18) and 3.6311?(19)?Å are observed.
