Bis(ethyl-enediammonium) tetra-deca-borate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, 2C(2)H(10)N(2) (2+)·B(14)O(20)(OH)(6) (4-), consists of a centrosymmetric tetra-deca-borate anion and two ethyl-enediammonium cations. The anions are inter-connected through strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network with channels along [100], [010], [001] and [111]. The diprotonated cations reside in the channels and inter-act with the inorganic framework by extensive N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, (C(2)H(10)N(2))(3)(C(2)H(9)N(2))(2)[Mo(5)(HPO(4))(2)O(15)]·10H(2)O, was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions at pH 5.0. The structure contains mono- and diprotonated ethyl-enediamine cations, [Mo(5)O(15)(HPO(4))(2)](4-) anions and uncoord-in-ated water mol-ecules. The [Mo(5)O(15)(HPO(4))(2)](4-) hetero-poly-oxometallate anion is made up of five MoO(6) octa-hedra sharing an edge and forming a ring, which is closed by common corners of the terminal MoO(6) octa-hedron. The ring is topped on both sides by two slightly distorted PO(4) tetra-hedra, sharing three corners with three MoO(6) octa-hedra. The terminal oxygen atoms of the PO(4) units are protonated. Together with the anions, the water mol-ecules and the ethyl-enediammonium cations are involved in N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Yttrium ethyl-enediammonium squarate tetra-hydrate.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(2)H(10)N(2))(1.5)[Y(C(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]}(n) {system-atic name: catena-poly[sesqui(ethyl-enediammonium) [[tetra-aquabis-(squarato-?O)yttrium(III)]-?-squarato-?(2)O:O']]}, was synthesized by slow evaporation of an acid solution. The asymetric unit contains one yttrium cation in an anti-prismatic environnement, three squarate groups, one and a half protonated ethyl-enediamine mol-ecules and four water mol-ecules. YO(8) polyhedra are connected through bis-(mono-dentate) squarates, leading to infinite zigzag chains, in between which are located ammonium groups. A framework of hydrogen bonds between protonated amine N atoms, water mol-ecules and squarate anions ensures the cohesion of the structure.

Ethyl-enediammonium tetra-aqua-disulfato-cadmate.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [NH(3)(CH(2))(2)NH(3)][Cd(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], consists of [Cd(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](2-) anions that are built from octa-hedral Cd(H(2)O)(4)O(2) and SO(4) tetra-hedral units linked by corner sharing. The ethyl-ene-diamminium cations are linked to the anions via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The asymmetric unit contains one-half of the compound, the other half being related to the first by an inversion centre. The crystal structure presents alternate stacking of the inorganic and organic layers along the crystallographic b axis. The structure cohesion and stability is further assured by O(water)-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Ethyl-enediammonium tetra-bromido-mercurate(II) monohydrate.

Project description:The Hg(II) atoms in the crystal structure of the title compound, (C(2)H(10)N(2))[HgBr(4)]·H(2)O, are tetra-hedrally coordinated by four Br atoms and the resulting [HgBr(4)](2-) ions are inter-connected to the [NH(3)-CH(2)-CH(2)-NH(3)](2+) ions and water mol-ecules by N-H⋯Br and O-H⋯Br bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. N-H⋯O inter-actions are also present. The observed three different Hg-Br distances of 2.5597 (6), 2.6862 (8) and 2.6923 (8) Å in the tetra-bromo-mercurate unit are due to the connection of Br atoms to different numbers of H atoms. The Hg, O and two Br atoms are located on a crystallographic mirror plane. The cation has symmetry with the center of the C-C bond lying on a crystallographic center of inversion.

Project description:In the title manganese(III) complex, [MnCl(2)(C(10)H(24)N(4))]BF(4) or trans-[MnCl(2)(cyclam)]BF(4) (cyclam is the tetra-dentate amine ligand 1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclo-tetra-deca-ne), the Mn(III) ions occupy the center of a distorted octa-hedron coordinated by all four ligand nitro-gen donors in the macrobicyclic cavity and two chloride ions occupy the axial positions. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonding involving the coordinated chloride ions and the hydrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand is observed. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonding involving the tetrafluoridoborate anion and hydrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand leads to an infinite one-dimensional chain along the a axis. The tetra-fluoridoborate and inorganic units are linked by N-H?F hydrogen bonds. The structure may be compared with those of analogous compounds [MnCl(2)(cyclam)]ClO(4) and [Mn(CN)(2)(cyclam)]ClO(4).

Project description:The title compound, Na(C2H10N2)[Co(C2O4)(C2H8N2)2]4[H5(P2W18O62)2]·14H2O, prepared under hydro-thermal conditions, consists of two Dawson-type [P2W18O62](6-) anions, four isolated [Co(en)2(ox)](+) cations (en = ethyl-enedi-amine and ox = oxalate), one Na(+) cation, one [H2en](2+) cation, and a number of ordered (14) and disordered solvent water mol-ecules. The [P2W18O62](6-) polyoxidometalate anion has site symmetry 1 and contains two structurally distinct types of W atoms: viz. six W atoms on vertical pseudo-mirror planes grouped in two sets of three, and 12 equatorial W atoms that do not lie in the pseudo-mirror planes grouped in two sets of six. In each [Co(en)2(ox)](+) cation, the Co(III) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two en ligands and two O atoms from the ox ligands, completing a distorted octa-hedral structure. The sodium cation lies on an inversion centre and additionally links the complex cations and anions. In the crystal, the various units are linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which together with C-H?O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional structure. The contribution of a region of disordered electron density, possibly highly disordered solvent water mol-ecules, to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE option of PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. To equilibrate the charges five H(+) ions have been added to the polyoxidometalate. These H(+) ions and the disordered solvent contribution were not included in the reported mol-ecular weight and density.

Project description:The title compound, (C(12)H(16)N(2))(2)[PbBr(6)], is an organic-inorganic salt, with two doubly protonated N-(1-naphth-yl)ethyl-enediammonium cations and one octa-hedral hexa-bromidoplumbate(II) anion. The Pb(II) atom is located on a centre of inversion. The crystal structure consists of alternating inorganic and organic layers parallel to the bc plane. Face-to-face aromatic stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.505 (5) Å] occur between parallel naphthalene systems in the organic layers, and N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions stabilize the crystal structure.
