ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title binuclear complex, [Zn(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(7)H(10)N(2))(2)], the Zn atoms [Zn?Zn = 3.0287?(6)?Å] are bridged by four 4-methyl-benzoate ligands. The four nearest O atoms around each Zn(II) atom form a distorted square-planar arrangement with the distorted square-pyramidal coordination completed by the pyridine N atom of the 4-(dimethyl-amino)pyridine ligand. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into infinite chains. The chains are further linked by weak C-H?? inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, [Zn(2)(C(9)H(10)NO(2))(4)(C(10)H(14)N(2)O)(2)], is a centrosymmetric binuclear complex, with Zn atoms [Zn⋯Zn' = 2.8927 (4) Å] bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups from the dimethyl-amino-benzoate (DMAB) ligands. The four carboxyl O atoms around the Zn atom form a distorted square-planar arrangement; the distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry is completed by the pyridine N atom of the N,N-diethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) ligand. The Zn atom is displaced by 0.3326 (2) Å from the plane of the four O atoms, with an average Zn-O distance of 2.0416 (12) Å. The dihedral angles between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 5.31 (8) and 11.00 (9)°, while the pyridine ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 66.26 (6) and 37.88 (7)° with respect to the benzene rings. Weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O and inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions are present.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C7H11N2)2[Mn(NCS)4(C7H10N2)2], the manganese(II) cations are coordinated by four N-bonded thio-cyanate anions and two N-bonded 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridine ligands into discrete complex dianions. For charge balance, two 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine counter cations are present, which do not coordinate to the metal cation. The asymmetric unit consists of one manganese(II) cation, four thio-cyanate anions and two 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridine ligands, as well as two protonated 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridinium cations. The discrete complex anions are connected to the non-coordinating pyridinium cations by weak N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The dihedral angles between carboxyl-ate groups and their adjacent benzene rings are 5.88?(10) and 11.89?(9)°, while the benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 75.19?(4)°. The pyridine ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 38.28?(4) and 49.17?(4)° with respect to the benzene rings. Project description:The central part of the title centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Zn(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(4)(C(9)H(12)N(2))(2)], has a paddle-wheel conformation with four benzoate ligands bridging two symmetry-related Zn(II) ions. The distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment around the Zn(II) ion is completed by an N atom from a 4-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)pyridine ligand. The Zn?Zn separation of 2.9826?(12)?Å does not represent a formal direct metal-metal bond. The Zn(II) ion is displaced by 0.381?(1)?Å from the mean plane of the four basal O atoms. Two of the C atoms of the pyrrolidine ring are disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.53?(2) and 0.47?(2).

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title Zn(II) complex, [Zn(C(9)H(10)NO(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(H(2)O)(2)], contains two 4-(dimethyl-amino)benzoate (DMAB) ligands, one isonicotinamide (INA) ligand and two water mol-ecules; one of the DMAB ions acts as a bidentate ligand while the other and INA are monodentate ligands. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Zn atom form a distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the N atom of the INA ligand and the O atom of the water mol-ecule in the axial positions. Intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a six-membered ring adopting an envelope conformation. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 4.87?(16) and 2.2?(2)°, while the two benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 65.13?(8)°. The dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridine rings are 11.47?(7) and 74.83?(8)°, respectively. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a supra-molecular structure. ?-? contacts between the pyridine and benzene rings and between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.695?(1) and 3.841?(1)?Å, respectively] further stabilize the structure. Weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions are also present.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric dinuclear compound, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(8)H(8)O(2))(2)], four o-toluate anions form a cage around two Cu atoms in a syn-syn configuration. Two more o-toluic acid mol-ecules are apically bonded to the Cu atoms, which show a square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The acid H atoms are hydrogen bonded to the cage carboxyl O atoms [O⋯O = 2.660 (2) Å]. The mol-ecular packing forms a puckered pseudo-hexa-gonal close-packed layer in the (h00) plane, with soft inter-molecular H⋯H contacts (2.46-2.58 Å).

In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into an infinite three-dimensional network.
